Was watching the game against Maribor on French TV and saw Jurgen Klinsmann next to D. Levy.
Was good to see him but is there any connection for a job at Spurs?
Was he there just as a guest? or are we linked with him? Director of football?
Or was he simply there to watch C. Dempsey?

Sorry mates, you may probably not know the answers to these question...;-) Just asking though.

Commentators reckoned he was there to watch Clint, which makes most sense.

Apart from the fact that Deuce came on with 10 minutes to go and Jurgen left on the 86th minute. #conspiracy

I suspect it was just a case of a football manager wanting to watch a game of football. He might have been in town for various reasons and with his association with the club he dropped in. Whatever, it was great to see him.

On a personal note though, I think he also would have done a great job at THFC.

I don't , personally I think he is hugely overrated as a manager and coach

But I do think he could be handy in some sort of DoF role as a German connection, bearing in mind the number of top players that are coming through in Germany.

That makes no fucking sense to me at all.

There's nothing you can learn about Clint as USA manager that you haven't learned in the last 16 months by watching him possibly playing against Maribor.

I'm sure that Levy has something in mind for him and i would guess it to be a DoF type role (wasn't he mooted for this before?)

Didn't he say in the interview with him before the match that he was there to chat with the trainer/manager. Something like that.

Jurgen will be expected to see his players "in action" and probably even has to justify the flight/accommodation/expenses to his employers who, presumably, paid for his trip.

He is 100% definitely going to be on television - he sat next to Dan Levy! - so any ideas of it being some secret rendezvous are at best optimistic and worst down right delusional.

But your point is quite right. He didn't NEED to see Clint. Which is why I suspect he left early. It was more a social visit combined with a chance to catch up with one of his most important players.

After the Juande Ramos clusterfuck by Kemsley, you think we'd hire a manager/DoF by parading them in the Director's Box in front of the public...? Sorry, dude. Not going to happen.

Nothing secret rendezvous about it IMO, but i do think there's more to it and than JK just watching some football.

If there was some kind of subterfuge going on involving Jurgen and any potential job in the Spurs set up then he wouldn't have done an interview for ITV before the game.

Maybe he has heard how poorly dempsey has played of late and needed to witness it for himself. My guess is that he watched Dempsey warm-up and felt physically sick at the sight and ran out to go toilet.

I wondered at first then noticed he was wearing a team tracksuit (wasn't completely clear as scrunched up but guessing it was the USA one).

I think Freund owed him a tenner and he just popped in to collect it.
No wait, the German connection.

Jurgen was German but now he's a Jew

I think he'd make a good DoF from an organisational pov, but I don't know who hot he is on scouting

I think Klinsmann would be an excellent coach anywhere if the Board and Chairman back him in terms of the way the youth teams and coached and operate right through to seniors.

I don't think its any coincidence how well Germany have done with a wonderful style of play too since Klinsmann took over and proposed the model they currently use. Sure he isn't a "tactical genius" we always hear about on internet forums but he knows how to manage and motivate players and is by no means a tactical dunce. Also v hot on player development which I think is the way forward and why we went for AVB over other candidates.

also Eriksson & Cappello sit next to Levy over the years, still they didn't get the job.

it's just about American players. May be not many options for him on Thursday.

I like him, but don't want him as our manager or DoF ATM.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

glad its not just me who thinks he would be pants, international management seems to suit him as its part time, dont think he has what it takes to be a club manager at the top level, even though as a spurs player i will never forget his first season.
