it's more than definitely the sentimental bastard in me but I would take soldado back in a heartbeat. I think he would thrive in this team. he had the mentality but not the confidence.
this is my biggest pet peeve with our fanbase, I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I really dont care about Soldaldo at all, I know he was a really good guy and his family went through some hard times. But he cost us a massive fee and missed some absolute gimmes, he did not play well at all and he did not work hard enough off the ball for the team despite what some people believe. Just because he uses social media well and calls us his "English team" doesnt warrant this cult hero status he has with our fanbase. Ffs I hear more nostalgic talk about him then I do about Bale and Modric, ridiculous.

Well, thats not our job is it?

The club needs to bring someone in by whatever means. They know we need another striker, they might not be saying it publically, but they will be trying to get someone in. If not, they're insane.
Seems it's all of our jobs!

This may have already been mentioned but if you look at the amount of the season Walker missed (6-9months?) and then came back and looked poor and you look at the time it took Ben Davis to come good (i prefer him over Rose anyway and think we look better with him in the lineup but that's a personal thing) if we're looking for back-up & competition for Harry would it not make a certain sense to go for someone who's familiar with Poch's methods and played well under him?

I'll be honest i've not been paying huge attention but would J.Rod not be a sensible option? And possibly cheaper than Berhinio (who it seems from outside has a questionable attitude with more than one manager)

We fucked up not getting a striker in under Arry when the league was wide open, lets not make the same mistake again.

I know we need to get the 'right' player in yadey yada but fuck me if we don't sign another out and out goalscorer/striker in a similar mould to Kane who can step in for him if he is injured or needs a rest we will throw away our best chance in recent years of not only top4 but possible top2/3 and some trophies.

Lets hope we've learnt our lessons.

Why are you trying to tell me that soldado doesn't warrant my praise? He came here into a shit team with a shit manager, had a shit time, played like shit and never once complained, always tried to keep the faith. In fact he goes out of his way to praise the club and his fans. He turned out to be a shit player for us but he is extremely talented and is a great person. I think with some Poch magic he could have been a revelation and if reports are to be believed Poch didnt want him to go. He's a hero to me because he's a lesson in dealing with adversity with dignity unlike modric who threw his toys out of the pram. (Proud member of the Cult of Bobby here if you didn't realize)

also. I would like Berahino, but his attitude concerns me, we don't need any toxic personalities around the team. Whatever happened to the Timo Werner links? I liked the look of him.

2014/15 we thought we needed another striker, but we started the season with some kid called Kane as the back-up.

2015/16 we thought we needed a DM, but somehow we ended up playing a young converted CB called Dier there instead.

Let's hope we've learned our lesson indeed.

The fans moaned and grumbled. Poch said he was happy with his squad and felt he had the men he needed. Poch of course has the advantage over us in that he sees these guys day in day out in training, so maybe he knows what he needs, and how badly he needs it? Anyway, imagine if we'd signed some big name striker back in the summer of 2014/15, or got Wanyama or whoever we were after last summer? Where would the likes of Kane and Dier be now? Remember also all the big name flops we've signed down the years; spending a fortune on a player with a reputation is no guarantee at all.

For me, I prefer to trust Poch and his team than my own opinion when it comes to identifying areas to strengthen and players to do it.

There isn't a rating I can give this. Agree or winner just don't do the job. It's so right.

My [not especially brave] prediction is that we won't sign a striker who could provide sufficient competition/back-up to Kane in January, and that we will suffer for it come the end of the season.

Merry Christmas.

Thing is we dont really have someone else in this team who can do the job. Chadli and Son are AM's/second strikers as is N'Jie, but he is hurt for a while. There isnt anyone in the academy who is really close.

Harry's next goal will be his 50th for Spurs in all competitions.

Kane has now scored 27 Premier League goals in 2015, a new club record that eclipses the previous best from Teddy Sheringham

Today's goals meant he's now scored 49 goals in 101 appearances (including those off the bench).

60 mins into the Wolves game and I haven't seen anything to suggest Afobe is capable of performing in the EPL never mind keeping Kane on his toes.

We should go in hard for Berahino as soon as the window opens and if Pearce is a twat then drop our interest and try and get the Belgian at Marseille. Should that fail then there's the likes of Beradi who we've been recently linked with.

I don't think we will buy someone nearly as good as a 50 million world class striker too.

My sugar-coated opinion is that Soldado was very lazy on the field.
