What's new

Kane, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen – is there a better attacking quartet in the Premier League?

The question could be are they better than Lennon, Van Der Vaart, Adebayor and Bale?

Maybe not individually but definitely collectively. I hope now people are starting to realise how much better a team can be with a proper coached ethos rather than the 'fucking run around a bit' Redknapp mantra

No

/thread

On paper, you could argue City and Chelsea have better players (I'd argue it) but, as a unit, in the structure they have, nobody even gets close.

They are all match-winners, can all score and create and having Harry as a focal point makes the other three all look better than they are.

Keep this four together for five years and they could be one of the all-time great attacking units.

Chadli, Son, N'Jie, Onomah fighting behind them, lovely.

I'd love us to sign someone like Gotze in the summer but then you run the risk of the unit not working as well. I think Son, when he is up to speed, can be a huge player for us but I don't think he does any of the MAIN things the other four are so important for (Alli linking play, Lamela hounding opponents, Kane scoring and Eriksen creating - they all do this but I feel this is each greatest contribution).

Lovely position to be in,

on their day perhaps Silva, Sterling, De Bruyne and Aguero - but not this season

Yeah, on paper, that looks better but I wouldn't swap Kane for Aguero as I feel Kane is so important to how we play. Aguero is a better striker IMO but Harry links better and uses his body much better. Silva and De Bruyne are wonderful players and I;d definitely take De Bruyne (not sure who for) but Sterling can bugger off

A question posed in the article below

http://www.theguardian.com/football...enham-predator-leicester-dele-alli-stoke-city

The more important question is - what Is their ceiling? How much better can this lot get?

On answering your question, these four are probably the most exciting four we've ever had, they have no ceiling, the balance between the four is brilliant, the only think they lack is genuine pace.

Some of there one touch football was a joy to behold. The Dele miss and Eriksen hitting the cross bar the football prior to it was memersing.

I couldn't believe it was my Tottenham team I was watching. Continue like that, they will be the best front four I have seen in the premiership.

There have been better midfields and better front two's, but as a quartet they're the potentially the best.

Aguero has scored something bonkers like 100 goals in 125 games... Silva is of course excellent and De Bruyne is going to be incredible next season as well. Jury is still out for me on Sterling.

But our four are really only just starting out... sky is the limit for those lads.

I don't think it's a vintage year for attacking quartets so they may well be the best, but the lack of genuine pace means they're a bit short of a team like Dortmund, which is the level we should aspire to.

I think our attacking quartet is one of the best around, they all know each others game inside out.

Only shame is that we can't whip up any good sounding acronyms for the guys...MSN at Barca and BBC at Real are all well and good, don't suppose the KALE of Spurs has the same ring to it...

Healthy at least...

The only club in the Premiership that comes close is Manchester City imo - Aguero is one the the very best strikers in world football and currently the only striker in the league better than Kane. De Bruyne and Silva are both top class as well but both blighted by injuries this season. Quality wise those three Aguero, De Bruyne and Silva are probably a class above what we have here BUT we have youth on our side and over the course of this season our boys have performed better than them. Sterling imo is vastly overrated by the way.

they looked like they could score at will last night....not sure if Stoke were that bad or the 4 in question have just clicked.

Sterling cost more than our whole front 4.

How about LEAK as that's what the opposition defence will be doing :geek:

All are excellent, but wouldn't mind the option of someone in the final third who can provide that bit of magic against the teams who are harder to break down.
