He's got over that Liverpool fuck-up I hope. There is still a Premiership quality player there with a huge reason to go out and prove a number of people wrong.

hardmen suffer the most when wives/babies come along. it's good that he is feeling like his old self.

Put yourself in his position.

One minute you're billy big balls going off to play CL football in a top four side which, allegedly, is his 'dream' club.
Then six months later you have to come back with your tail between your legs to find that you haven't been missed and you are no longer the crowd favourite.

It's bound to make your game suffer.

But hopefully it's all behind him as an on-form Keane is our best forward and, assuming his pre-season form isn't a false dawn, it could save us a small fortune in the transfer market.

I think we were missing him somewhat!

Agree with the last paragraph, he is certainly our best striker on form. Look forward to him hopefully banging in the goals for us this season.

Now you've reminded me I'll retract that part of my argument!

I'm not sure how I could have forgotten 2 points from 8 games with Harry still around, maybe a bit of selective memory blocking out bad times.

Sure to make it into our top 5 all time goal scorers.... of course that won't stop the braindeads from dissing him.

9 more to break the top 5, easy pickings if he plays enough games. 1 more goal for 100 league goals too.

What a legend.

Very Happy to see some postive reponses on this thread after seeing so much negativity towards Keane on this site. Would love to see him return to form that makes him an automatic starter. He seems like a guy who will thrive if we throw our support behind him, as we should do with all our players. Wouldn't it be great to go a whole season without slagging off our players, even Jenas ;), imagine the lift we could give this squad of immense potential.

I don't think anybody will be displeased to see him return to form and nobody will begrudge him a top 5 spot. As many have said - like a new signing.

However, to say that an on-form Keane is our best striker is simply not true. When 'on form' (meaning 'when playing really well' I hope we all agree) it is without a shadow of a doubt and by a country mile Jermain Defoe

DOW and SS18 you are guilty as charged of lurching from one extreme to another in true SC tradition  :)

Yes

Not sure I can be bothered to do the typing as it's pretty obvious. We had a thread on this last year. I might cut and paste one of my posts from there

Adam456, you smoking crack man.

Defoe is limited and crap after Christmas.

And yes, you started this Keane v Defoe free for all, I hope you're happy with yourself you bounder.

Oh and also you are grossly incorrect about SS18, he has always been a massive supporter of Spurs, one of the biggest on SC, and has regularly repped me when I have defended Keano against the crazy people.

So go and apologise to him too please ta.
