as said before, we don't have any defenders in the academy and the defence is compromised of midfielders
Oh yea, just saw that Fredericks was RB and Nicholson CB, I know they're both midfielders.

So why the hell haven't we got any defenders in the academy? That's really weird....

Falque appears to be impressing then. He's 21 isn't he and only on a season loan? If so surely we'd have loaned him with the idea of him playing in the first team?

You'd have to assume he needs match fitness...

A lot of the 'academy' arent playing this match, this is more for the players aged 18-19 who are now professionals and havent gone out on loan. A lot of the defenders such as Caulker, Smith and Byrne are out on loan.

You could argue we should just play even younger players in defence who normally play in the position, but I guess the coaches feel that its better to give all of this age group a run out, even if out of position.

Does anyone know if Falque played on the left or right?

Someone posted earlier and I think it was the right of a 4-2-3-1

EDIT: here it is

Spurs XI (4-2-3-1):
Alnwick;
Fredericks, Ekong, Nicholson, Olaya;
Carroll, Parrett;
Falque, Ceballos, Kane;
Lancaster

Subs: Archer, Barthram, Stewart, Bostock, Pritchard, Oyenuga.

Looks like Ceballos must have taken a knock as Jordan Archer had to come on as an outfield sub!

Barcelona dont play many defenders....i can see defender or players who can only play in defence as a dying breed. Barcelona seem to be adopting an approach in which everybody in the team are very good on the ball and good positionally, they play with busquets or macherano cb and i even saw keita (sp) play rb recently. May be trying to take a leaf out of their books and create a system in which verybody becomes very comfortable on the ball no matter what position they play? just an idea

Yep but he can sign a pre contract for any non italian team in january

yeah when we signed him it was stated that he had a year left on his contract.

I imagine we would have put in place some contingencies for him being shit hot...

We would have to pay a nominal fee (judged by tribunal) as he is under 24 (or is it 25?)

just got back ,ceballos was awesome, touch, passing and most of all his finishing was great, played free role in a midfield 3 behind, kane and lancaster, with falque, on the right, kane was poor, as was the defence and i have to say Alnwick was awful

how was bostock?

great freekick but bloody lazy , could hear sherwood shouting bloody do something, i dont think he will be at the club too long he only played 45mins but looked like he had played 120 mins, but the irritating thing is his passing was good but he doesnt chase when he doesnt have the ball just mopes around,
