And when it comes to the attacking statistics, Trippier begins to build his case for a start. His crossing last weekend came in for a lot of praise, grabbing one assist for Son’s second goal but deserving another, putting in an excellent cross that should have been converted by Vincent Janssen in the first half.
And the stats back up Trippier’s superior delivery. He’s been successful on 19% of his crosses compared to Walker’s 13%, and even more impressively he has got just two less assists than Walker despite featuring in 21 fewer games.
When Walker was dropped (and he was absolutely, one hundred percent dropped) the team did not miss a beat.
Poch knows what he is doing, has protected the squad and sent out a nailed on message of unity, commitment to the cause and underlined his philosophy to every player at the Club, and all whilst giving Pep a lesson that dealing with Levy is like catching a case of the piles.
What I can't understand is why city didn't buy Tripper.Oh it's suddenly come to me, walker is quicker, stronger and a better defender but then tripper can cross a ball.
Walker has probably been our best right back in since Danny Thomas only Carr can come close.
