The ever reliable Daily Mail has linked our England right-back with Manchester United.

Can't see Levy selling to United to be honest but it's in the newspapers so it must be true.

I reckon with 20m we could get a full-back at least as good as Walker.

Nonsense story though.

I like Walker, but if we had a chance of getting Nathaniel Clyne out of any money we make for Walker then I would consider it.

Clyne is a superior defencer and I've always quite liked him from his Palace days.

Walker could also possibly develop further though.

Walker is on a different level imo. Also we have looked so much better with him back in the team.

I really don't think Walker is on a different level to Clyne. You could make arguments for either, but don't think the difference is great.

If United were prepared to pay an inflated fee for Walker, I'd definitely be happy to sell and bring Clyne in.

I think Walker is an accident waiting to happen most of the time and only his speed gets him out of jail. I know he's supposed to be a wing back more than a full back but his defensive brain appears to be switched off most of the time.

Clyne is absolutely on another level to Walker. My god, man, what on earth are you talking about???

Oops, didn't read your post properly. My bad.

Really? Have you watched him week in, week out like you have Walker? He's good, but by no means a quantum leap forward from Kyle..

Clyne > Walker. Not much of a competition tbh.

Manchester United are understood to have made enquiries about the availability of Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker - but Louis van Gaal would be better off focusing all his efforts into signing the defender's in-form teammate Harry Kane instead.

Walker, 24, may have rediscovered his best form in recent weeks but he is not the answer to Manchester United's right-back problems.

The dynamic Spurs star has suffered from lengthy periods of inconsistent form during his career, stemming from his desire to bomb forward at every available opportunity. He sometimes neglects his defensive responsibilities and, while this could be fixed over time, Van Gaal is better off either sticking with Rafael or signing a more reliable full-back such as Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne.

Paddy McNair

Furthermore, Paddy McNair is developing nicely, and has proved in recent matches that he's capable of playing at both centre-back and right-back.

Van Gaal even claimed the Northern Ireland Under-21 international could become Manchester United's first-choice right-back for the next 10 years if he continues progressing at his current rate.

Walker gets tons of abuse, but we concede very few chances from his side of the pitch. It's probably not a coincidence.

If a stray pass every now and then is the price to pay, then I'll live with it.
