I don't mind Walker going as part of MP's philosophy of bringing youngsters through.
MP's strength is getting kids playing at a high level, and the top prospects will come if they see there is a great chance to progress to the first team.
The price we pay is that good players will be sold.
I'm not quite sure where Sissoko fits into this model though.

The only real positive of Walker going to City other than the cash is establishing a relationship with a club who only have good players - ie., we might get one of theirs in future. Not saying it would happen overnight, but in 5-10 years when we can match wages, we could be interested in someone like Jesus. (the City Jesus, not that Jesus...)

Walker's a great player but still can't cross a ball that well. Interesting value put on him compared to other professions and their required skills. Football money's ' gone mad!

He's a fullback, hardly any of them can cross well consistently.

Walker will be one of those players where people didn't realize just how good he is until he's gone.

Depends on how much it impacts us. Hypothetically speaking, if we needed the money from Walker's sale to fund his replacement (or any player) I'd rather it were done as soon as.
I think Poch already thinks he has his replacement in Trippier.

Whether Poch is right or not may be the big issue.

We shouldn't sell because we need back up in all positions. I know Walker can't cross that well and his defending sometimes goes awry but he is still a good squad player and we will need that going in to next seasons Premier League and Champions League competitions.

I honestly believe it is not about us wanting to keep Walker. We obviously would like to keep him (as long as he hasn't completely pissed Poch off)

It is about Walker seeing what he could earn elsewhere. Fair play to him imho.

Then it is about us getting best value for him. That is where Levy excels.

Poch's other strength is turning young English fullbacks into internationals: Clyne, Shaw, Rose, Trippier etc.

Even occasional fullbacks like Calum Chambers and Eric Dier who have been nurtured by Poch have played for England.

I have no doubts he can turn Walker-Peters into an international class player.

Tottenham raise the asking price for Manchester City transfer target Kyle Walker BY HALF

The England full-back thought he'd cost £40m but moves elsewhere have led to Spurs adding another £20m to his valuation

Kyle Walker could be priced out of a move to Manchester City as Tottenham are now demanding more than £60million for him.

The north Londoners are ready to dig their heels in over England right-back Walker , who only signed a new five-year contract last September.

With Liverpool prepared to pay a similar fee for Southampton centre-half Virgil van Dijk, Spurs believe they are justified in valuing Walker at significantly more than the £40m price he originally thought was on his head.

City have already signalled their intent to massively back manager Pep Guardiola this summer with a £43m swoop for Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva .

They are also set to sign Benfica keeper Ederson for £35m — a world record for a player in his position.

But it now remains to be seen whether they are willing to meet Tottenham’s demands, or look elsewhere for new full-backs.

Walker has for some time been expected to move to the Etihad, where he will be able to double his £75,000-a-week wages.

Classic Levy. They'll agree to the £60 million and then he'll ask for £70 million. City don't know what they've let themselves in for!

It's not even July yet and we're already asking for 60.

If they truly want him Levy will hold out until August and Levy will probably ask for a further 10-20mil.
