Do you honestly believe this? Apparently entitlement comes quickly. If we come 2nd again I, joining many others on this board, will commence another 4 day end of season wank session. Year at Wembley, another season in the CL, beating all the other big spenders after another year of big spending, another season of progress (and yes, consolidating 2nd place is progress as was consolidating top 4 this year). And plus, Levy would not remotely entertain any big outgoings as we move into the stadium. Long contract/new stadium opening =/= no transfers out.

You beat me to it. How many of our players left after seeing Bale move to Madrid and win the champions league? Rose, Vertonghen, Dembele, Kane and even Walker are still here even after seeing their ex teammate win everything in Spain. Why would it be any different with Walker?
If anything we'll add a big name player or two next summer to help fill the stadium. We won't be weakening the squad.

I just hope if Walker is going, it doesn't turn ugly like most of our better (top) players leaving.

Unfortunately we have a tactic where players wanting to leave or tapped up they are forced to come out publicly then us fans turn against player who then goes on strike and we are then forced to sell followed by a complaint to the FA.

If City wants Walker they should pay however I don't feel we need to haggle publicly in fact we should be up front and state want we want then all parties are clear.

As soon as you say what you want you are admitting that the player is for sale. This instantly weakens your hand and will ensure they leave for less. With Walker a year into a 5 year term we hold all the aces. As others have said its a world cup year and his competition for club is the same as country.

I agree with you but most of the players in the team Bale left were either average or not as good as they are now so wouldn't have deserved a move elsewhere. In our current team you could argue that most of our starting XI are better than Walker without being harsh on him

Whether it's true or not, the fox has well and truly been chucked into the chickens on Blue Moon by a poster who, having not posted for 7 years, suddenly pops up and says Levy is demanding £60m, City are not prepared to meet his demands and so there's stalemate.

The responses are quite revealing. Indeed, I half wondered whether Daniel had a couple of accounts on Blue Moon and had spent most of the afternoon posting on there himself...

"60m? The cheeky bastard."

"It's Levy. And Walker has 4 years on his contract, If we didn't see this coming, then we're fucking stupid."

"The price is only going to keep increasing the closer we get to the start of the season with no full backs. Clubs can name whatever price they want. This is the cost of not being forward thinking enough and having to release and replace 3 senior full backs in a single window."

"They can name their price and we'll pay it because there's no home-grown alternative. They know this, we know this. I don't see the point in haggling with this one. May as well stump up the cash now so he can at least have a full pre-season."

"Walker's not just English but he's in the right position too. I don't think there's any other position where an Englishman is as close to being the best in the world. Walker's not the best, but there aren't many ahead of him and they aren't that much better. Compared to say, central midfield, where the likes of Kroos, Thiago, Modric etc. are on a completely different planet to their English equivalent (Henderson)."

"When a club gets rid of their only two right fullbacks and pursues one of the best in the Prem, then the selling club have got you by the bollocks."

"You think we'll walk away even if its £50 or £60 million? It will.be paid."

"We nearly paid for the Emirates stadium with transfers from the Arse. Suppose we could start the building fund at WHL."

Oh, and finally, I do hope this one's true...

"City had an agreement in principle with Spurs, until we issued our official release list, with 2 rightbacks on it.... then Spurs put the price up. Really dislike Levy."

Levy may divide people on many things, but when it comes to selling a good player he will pull every trick in the book, how did City not realise this. Just ask Fergie what he finds more painful his hip surgery or dealing with Levy.

It hasn't really mentioned how stupid City have been in letting both right backs go. It makes them look desperate right off the bat.

I notice the Alves deal has gone quiet too. His agent is probably taking them to the cleaners on wages.

Walker's by far the absolute best in his position in the Premier League.
City should have paid up early on, now that the transfer market is taking off and mediocre-ish players are going for £30m it's no surprise that Walker's value rise in line with those.

Haha that is absolutely brilliant and I truly hope its actually what happened! Everything he says is right though, how did they let themselves get into this position, no other English RB comes close to Walker at this moment in time so if they want to have him then they have to pay up!

£60m is an insane amount of money to be honest, the game has just gone bloody bonkers!

The fees this summer are making me hate football as much as I like it. The fact ticket prices are so high is a joke when fees like this are going around. Nothing needs to be as expensive as it is.

funny thing is for everything walker does right there is always going to be a day like UTD away when Felaini made him look sunday league and when he just has a lobotomy and turns into Tremazani. I'd definitely keep him and put up with those days but for 60m when we have Trippier now and probably KWP in a couple of years tops I'd definitely move him on.

Walker may well be motivated by the money but if he is thinking about game time does he want to fight it out with Alves - who lets face it will expect to play - or Trippier (no disrespect to Kieran)

Arrogant fuckers.. The once ridiculed yo-yo club from a provincial city where they are a distant number two, have lost the plot ever since winning the lottery. They also fail to remember that their ground is owned by the council..

Fergie had it right:

"You what Levy is like ...... he's different!"

Yup Different = Financially astute.
