i know it's a fucking bastard of a thought, but would Levy string them along all summer and scuttle it at the last minute? Leaving City with no way of getting a decent RB for next season...

This would be worth a lot more to us than the money in my opinion. Certainly more than Walker today minus a years depreciation, even is we let him rot in the reserves for a season.

this is spurs that's why, we always had to drop down to third choice except in exceptional circumstances , chances is walker wouldn't be replaced
I can't see us letting Walker go until we have already purchased a replacement. If we can't find a suitable replacement, then we won't sell him.

Or instead of asking for more money just don't sell him.
Strengthening them. Walker will soon get over it once the league starts just like modric.

Let the shites buy kaboul

We have them by the balls now. They'll either have to pay an extortionate fee, or we'll keep him.

I like the thought but I don't think completely pissing them off is a good idea. They'll just try to unsettle our players every year after that as revenge.

My concern would be Levy turns this into a pissing contest, demands an exorbitant fee, which City eventually agree to but too late in the window for us to get an adequate replacement, but Levy still sells because he can't resist the offer on the table.

All if's, but's and maybe's though.

What a bunch of ameateurs City are. Who in their right mind, would release both of their RBs then get into negotiations with Levy of all people. Literally more money than sense.

Personally I would rather keep him if he was going to another team in the Prem, plus we have no reason to sell.

I can’t see us re-investing his entire fee, like with Bale, especially with wimmer and sissoko still to sell. What’s the point in strengthening a rival and having some money in the bank.

Obviously he will be sold though, I imagine Trippier will step up and rightly should be given the chance.

Depends on the needs of the squad.
If Wimmer goes, most of any fee received will likely go on a replacement if media reports are to be believed, maybe even more money will need to be allocated, given Mawson and Gibson quoted at £20-30m.
If Sissoko goes, then Barkley is the main name in the frame and would likely cost more than Sissoko brings in.
Add in the rumoured £20m+ for Pereira, plus Lopez and Foyth fees, and suddenly we're eating into that Walker fee.

Would the fees received for Carroll, Bentaleb, N'Jie and Fazio not be factored in new recruits?
