The atmosphere sounded great tonight and I noticed the drummer was back, I can't say I'd noticed before tonight but I do think it sounds good.

Didn't watch it and haven't seen any highlights, but those two goals must have been luck. Cause like most on this board I am an idiot and refuse to see that this kid has talent. Lucky bastard.

Fully expect to see an article along the lines of "he's nothing but a self obsessed show pony and bad for the team" from Adrian Durham any day now.

An audacious moment of magic.

Give him time, Lamela will be so so worth it. So much potential and it baffles me how, even ignoring THE goal, people havent seen that this season anyway.

Not sure which goal I've watched over and over more, Lamela's or Bale's run and cross to set up Pav against Inter at home.

At least our great goal compilations now have something to be added to them, pretty sure there hasn't been a reason to update them since Bale left. Been pretty much an 18 month void.

Got to admit it though, he was winding me up something rotten during the first half. Every time he got the ball, he seemed to slow the game down, do a little step-over or start rolling his foot over the ball, so that the momentum was lost. Whether the goal got something out of his system, or whether he got a rocket from Poch at half-time, he definitely stopped all the fancy-dan stuff in the second half and both he and the team looked much better for it.

I know the comparison is pretty obvious, but he really does remind me of Ronaldo from his first season with United. Lots of flashy stuff but not always the final delivery. I really do hope the similarity doesn't end there.

What a goal though. Could you imagine if he ever did one of those against the Gooners?

I think the goal must of relaxed him... bit of a monkey off his back for the new season... Hopefully he can build on this game, it was far from a perfect performance but there is some real quality in him...

Amazing goal from Lamela last night and hopefully it'll do wonders for his confidence.

Still not entirely sure how he got that much power behind it without tripping himself up!!??!
