fantastic for the lad; hope it proves the turning point in his Spurs career. Think we agree that he has the talent but like Hazard for Muourinho, surely the challenge is for Poch to get him to raise his standard on a consistent basis now so that he starts to dominate week in week out.

If he and Harry smash in a few more against the Geordies i will start getting excited abou this team!

I hope this goal makes him relax a little - I sort of feel like he thinks he has something to prove, but I'd actually just like to watch him play things quite simply.

He has a lovely touch, an excellent finisher and is a good passer. If he stays to those things, keeps it simple and occasionally tries something audacious I think he'll be excellent.

It's when he tries to over complicate things that it falls down IMO

I loved the way he honoured the badge last night.

He's in a fortunate position. He's playing in one of the best leagues in the world and his manager is an Argentine great who not only wants whats best for the club but also wants whats best for Argentina.

He won't get better development anywhere else. Soooooo yeah. Too bloody right he should kiss the badge. :D

Sort of. He held it up.

There was no kissing your honour. :cautious:

I prefer that, unless you're a long serving player who has a history with the Club and fans.

The reaction of holding the badge, showed a pride in the club by Lamela and an appreciation of the supporters and those who have helped him over the last year.

Kissing it in modern football would have felt a bit empty in a world of mercenaries, when it seems for show and we all cynically think they don't mean it...

Especially with Bale kissing the Real Madrid badge before he had even kicked a ball for them :shifty:

His goal crashed twitter.

Who would have thought for an EUFA cup game, it is only in the UK and one or two other places that this competition does not get the respect it deserves (Yes I know it could be better with somethings).

Just good thing Lamela doesn't think like that.

Still gob smacked over the whole thing.

I thought Sky didn't have the rights to the Europa? Did they pay just for that Lamela goal?

Put this in the Match Thread but thought it worthy of going in here too:

Highlights. Nice angle of Erik's effort and Harry's 'Goalkeeping' too.

Enjoy!

My word what is that muppet paul lambert going on about, sounded a right kill joy fool.
Jamie said the right things but you could tell it was painful for him.
Glad sky bought the rights though, it's nice to see us getting some positive press and should be a massive confidence boost for lamela.
