He's one of the reasons we are playing like shit. They know that Lamela/Townsend aren't going to do a fucking thing and as a result they can keep two on Kane and two on Dembele/Eriksen. If Lamela/Townsend had the regular beating of their man and could concern West Ham then there would be more space for the CAM and striker. Notice how our goal came right after Chadli came on and spaced out their setup. (For this reason I am confused as to why Walker/Rose aren't pushing further forward like usual).
Lamela/Townsend didn't beat their man ONE TIME. Let that sink in. That's the problem today. West Ham don't give a damn if those two have the ball. As long as they can keep 5 people around Kane and Dembele/Eriksen they are happy and successful.
He's trying hard, as always, and I'll always give him respect for that...but just not the required quality on the ball.

My point was that there were far other worse performers so silly to single him out as the worst.

Thought lamela was the key to our comeback today. Was everywhere. Was shit in the first half, but it's no surprise to see the idiots on here scapegoating him again.
If you think Lamela is useless today you are just an idiot. Our movement is fluid with him. Lamela, Eriksen and Chadli are the best three behind the striker. The last 12 minutes where our best spell in the whole game.
Spurs were not shit like stupid fans always say when Spurs dont win. The effort of the team were good but Mason, Demeble and twonsend are not suited to Poch's style of play.

Lamela on the left just doesn't work at all - he's a fish out of water there and I never want to see him there again, but he showed again he can be decent playing on the right cutting in.
Exactly. Thoses three were the reason our attack was blunt in the first half. I lost count how misplaced passes mason and dembele had between them. Townsend is very predictable and offers little in end product.

He was shit in the first half and ok in the second, no better than that.
Playing Townsend today was a bad decision. He's rarely impressive in EL games, let alone PL games. But playing him on the right to put our one playmaker, in theory, in the AM at a disadvantage by playing him on the wrong side? Even worse.

He was not shit in the first half but the left side is not his natural side. Yet he pass well unlike dembele and mason.

Exactly. Everyone was shit in the first half, and most of them were shit in the second. At least Lamela improved when he got moved back to his correct position and was able to deliver quality into the box several times. He was the only one looking for a clever pass all game.
Basically, he was nothing like as shit as the rest of the team today. Faint praise but positive still.

Lol hardly anyone has really slated him badly but the one's who are lovers I got to give it to you, you guys are really passionate. He was ok today but his faults don't seem any nearer to going away. Certainly though he was not the worst Spurs player out there. A* again for effort.

Played much better on the right. I don't think that's a huge surprise, though. I still think he offers more than Townsend when you look at the whole picture.
