I’d save Bale for the weekend- he has a great scoring record against the gooners
Sentiments can only take you so far. There is no way Bale is ready to start against Arsenal based on current fitness and form. Arsenal may not be on good form collectively, but they have some young players who would run rings around Bale, based on what I have seen this season where Bale is concerned.

Hi everybody, Spurs fan from Linz, Austria here - figured it would be interesting for you to find out about the conditions in Linz where Spurs will play LASK tonight, so here´s a few insights:

  • Traveling from London should not be much of a hassle, in fact getting to the London airport is probably more complicated than getting from the Linz airport to the stadium and back - it´s mainly a 20 minute ride through what´s not a crowded region, so no traffic issues to be expected. the airport is remotely located, getting from and to there to where the stadium will be easy, there´s none of the density normally affiliated with airports.
  • The airport is quiet at the best of times and practically deserted right now, so no hassle to be expected upon arrival and departure. The team will probably be whisked through at both occasions
  • Flight from London to Linz takes about 2 hours, a bit less maybe depending on where the team leaves from.
  • Stadium as such is no big deal but pitch and dressing room facilities should be ok (been there recently as the company I am working for briefly sponsored the other local team which plays its games there - nothing fancy but certainy fine enough for a one-off occasion)
  • Might be looking a bit odd that the stadium is open to one side
  • No fans allowed obviously as Austria is in a state of lockdown - so obviously I am sad that I can´t attent the game but will watch it from home
  • Weather conditions - there was some snow overnight but that´s long melted. it´s still cold but the pitch (and the traveling) will be absolutely fine, we don´t expect a sudden blizzard
  • Got not much to say about the team, I don´t really follow them. They´re doing alright in the Austrian top flight I guess, but - Austrian top flight. There´s a giant gap in quality between RB Salzburg and the rest
Anyway. Looking forward to the game, maybe the above was interesting enough for some of you :)

For the culture vultures, Linz is a goldmine. A few very brief facts.....

Linz is the capital of Upper Austria and third-largest city in Austria. In the north of the country, it is on the Danube 30 kilometres (19 miles) south of the Czech border.

The city was founded by the Romans, who called it Lentia. The name Linz was first recorded in AD 799.

Important inhabitants of the city was the age of discovery-era astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler, Anton Bruckner, who spent the years between 1855 and 1868 working as a local composer and organist in the Old Cathedral, Linz and Adolf Hitler who spent most of his youth in the Linz area, from 1898 until 1907, when he left for Vienna. The noted Tenor, Richard Tauber was born in Linz

Thirteen shopping malls can be found in Linz, three of which are situated in the city centre. There are eleven farmer's markets as well as one weekly flea market and two Christmas markets in Linz.

Mozarthaus is the house, dating to the end of the 16th century, where the famous Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed the "Linz" Symphony and "Linz" Sonata during a three-day stay there in November 1783. Today, the exterior and inner courtyard of the house can be visited, but not the interior.

Pöstlingbergbahn is the steepest mountain rail in the world which was built in 1898 and operates gear-wheel free (functional grip between wheel and rail: gradient of 10.5%)

There you go you peasants.

Start Scarlett. Rather play with a striker than without. If we need it, rhen stick Son on as a sub but Scarlett should lead the line with Bale, Dele & Lucas in the AM3.

Nope, A&C. You’re not having me believe that place in bold is a real name. I refuse to believe it.

Why is Højbjerg, Ndombele and Son starting after having playing so much and the important games we have coming up ffs

Dele should be starting a game like this

TBF I think the fact we're playing Arsenal next will have had some bearing on this too - they play tonight as well so there's less of a difference in rest/recovery than if we were playing other teams.

Also worth noting that as strong as that team looks only three of them will likely start on Sunday (Ndombele, PEH, Son) and there's 5 subs in Europe so barring a disaster they can be hopefully be taken off before 60 mins and should be fine for the weekend.

Also, if we qualify today he'll be able to make wholesale changes and rest all of our first teamers next week so it'll be a decent break for them.
