On reflection, the player I'd say I was most disappointed with was Bale. He is a World Class, highly decorated player with vast experience. With Kane out, he is the player who should have been looking at the lacklustre performance and saying right, time to take the lead here.

He's a leader for Wales, he needs to start seeing himself as one for Spurs.

The Honeymoon is over now, his fitness should be virtually up there, he needs to start pushing himself now and start affecting games positively.

Really doesn't seem like he has it in him anymore. He's only what 31? He shouldn't be that unfit when playing at a club with such facilities as we have. He seems miles off.

There were no postives
Hart he made a great save but then he has to save the first two
Doherty looks cumbersome and indecisive
Davinson awful
Tangananga all over the place
Lo Celso dreadful
Bale very poor
Moura no service but struggled to keep the ball if you do ratings they all reach about 4 and the others only six

really dissapointing

Although it was a pretty horrible performance it never seems to work for us throwing the 2nd string together like that especially away from home in EL.
I’m very confident of a completely different performance on Sunday vs the woolwich wanderers with the 1st choice 11 ?

Unfortunately that could be a first team if we had a few injuries. It was also the midfield most have been asking for.

You have to say that José is a very lucky manager though. It’s unbelievable that we managed to draw that game.

Some truly terrible performances tonight. Front three unable to hold the ball, most incredibly sloppy in possession, very dodgy down the right-hand side. Bale still miles off the pace, Doherty looks uncomfortable defending, and Sanchez is just shockingly poor.

"NOBODY" - did you see the Liverpool starting 11 the other night compared to what it would be with a fully fit squad? They played really well and won the game against Ajax, who had a lot to play for. So I don't agree with you. What we need is to continue to improve our squad, too many players who are not good enough at the Europa group stages, let alone the top level.
Agree in part but thats why I said it shouldn't prevent you from doing the basics, ie working hard, being able to pass the ball, etc. Youre never gonna have a squad of 25 where the b team are as good as the a team, NOBODY has (see what I did there lol).
And if Liverpool play everyone in their normal positions then that helps as well. We stuck Lo Celso and Ndombele together for the first time with Son upfront. Doherty, GLC, Ndombele, Son and Moura are all far far better players than they displayed tonight. Was a total cluster fk.
Why I cant say for definite but those players out there tonight are more than capable of putting in a better performance than they did.

True but imo the defence was very weak tonight and JM builds his team on a strong defence and a good target man , tonight we had neither

Very lucky mate. That's why he has won as much as he has.
Bang on. He is a lucky fker. We've always been an unlicky team imo. Shit happens to us that doesnt happen to anyone else.

Arsenal moving into our patch with money behind them.
Ball 1yd over goal line. Disallowed.
Going for 4th spot. Team get stomach bug.
Get top 4. No CL.
Chasing title. 3 Mon night fixtures on the bounce coupled with playing after Leicester every match, never before (fkin no chance that happens with Jose in charge. No chance).
Mugged in CL final with a ridiculous penalty in the first min.
Build £1B new stadium. Fkin worldwide pandemic so its empty ( a shit show only matched by Afc Wimbledon lol).
Jose brings a lot of clout with him so a lot of these shit things will no longer happen. I'd say 4 of the above dont happen with Jose at the club.

We all know that with certain individuals in this group of players that they are hard to motivate. The amazon documentary proved what we know about their performances over the last 2 years in the main. Go back and watch that to see the amount of times Mourinho had to rouse them at half time. There’s a misplaced arrogance amounts them that some of them are too good for games like tonight.

I’m struggling to get annoyed by it. We’ve 9 games this month and that was the least important of them. Roll on beating the scum on Sunday.

Nah, we've won this thing every time we've been in it winning 7, 8 & 9 nil all the way through the qualifiers - memories.

has Jose done an interview? what did he say? "had to play long ball because of the pitch but without a target man it was difficult"?

There was at least one positive. We needed at last a draw to progress and we drew. Everything else in your list I can agree with but I give Japhet some credit for the dynamic run forward which got us deep into their half and ended up in us getting a penalty equaliser just before half time.

The truth is he couldn't trust that shower of a defence to play out from the back and he was right about that. We would surely have lost had we done so.

Not lucky on this one I reckon. He said in the pre-match presser that LASK were better than they showed at The Lane and that they are a better team than Antwerp and that is why he picked such a strong side. It cannot be denied that he was proven correct to do so as they were in our faces from the first to the ninetieth minute. It could have been carnage if he took liberties and picked a fully second string outfit.

This is a quote I found on social media:

José Mourinho on #thfc tonight: "Nothing new learnt. The fact that the Europa League group phase does not motivate some of the players. That some players are fundamental for us and I always need on the pitch in any circumstance." [Daily Express]
