I think theres deffo something going on, whether it's Leandro or someone else, I've got a gut feeling a signing will be anounced in the next few days.

People post this every window. People are proved wrong every window. Bear in mind from the first ITK saying "done deal", it's at best a week until the papers are reporting a done deal (they will have linked us before ITK 99 times out of 100, but only say it's done later on), and then maybe another week until it's announced/tied up in reality.

There's no way we'll announce a signing in June. Some small probability we'll announce a maximum of one or two deals in July, most likely we'll announce a couple in August and that'll be your lot.

To hope or expect otherwise is to encourage meltdown and threaten your sanity.

Not really, I'm pretty chilled about transfers. I'm not one of these posters that gets all frustrated and stuff (check some of my other posts) and yes, its early days in the window, but as I said in my previous post, its a gut feeling I have, if I'm wrong then feel free to point and laugh (y)

Ha! Fair enough. I will. :)

Maybe things will be different with these Brazilians, especially in light of the Confed Cup. That ending on June 30 just means we're even less likely to announce them before - but it also suggests it's in our interest to get as much of the agreement in place as possible beforehand. Which should mean more ITK...

I'm convinced part of the reason for this is down to players' salaries and our dear Mr. Levy. Contracts end on 30 June usually, so even a signing announced in May doesn't join his new club until 1 July. However, if he joins on 31 July, we've saved a whole month's salary. And if it's 31 August - we've saved two months' salary! In the days of £50k/week-plus wages, that's not to be sniffed at, reckons our Mr. Levy (allegedly).

Of course any right-thinking fan would want new signings on board for pre-season and the opening league game, but hey ho, we're only fans, what do we know?

The problem is for each of the last two seasons we've started poorly - thanks in no small part to our new signings either not having been made yet (remember when Ade and Scott Parker finally came in and we finally looked the part 2 seasons ago?) or they have signed but have had no time to adapt or work with the team during preseason (look how poorly we started last season with so many players missing pre season and not even having the coach in place soon enough)

If you look at how close we've been points wise to CL football and the prize money that comes with that for the past two seasons you'd have to ask whether the month of salary savings were worth the dropped points early doors that could well have been the difference between CL football, prize money and extra earning potential from sponsorship deals etc as our profile rises with CL exposure

I've long taken issue with the word "Boring" in your name, sir. Nothing could be further from the truth. Perhaps you could replace with... Cynical..? ;)

Leandro isn't in the starting 11 or subs for Brazil's Conf. Cup opener. Interesting...

He is injured so has been dropped from the squad and replaced with Jo

Wow. There's a name I didn't ever expect to hear again on the Brazil team sheet. Are they really that short of good strikers or has he actually been the bollocks since going back home?

Edit: And just as I typed this the cameraman focuses on him as he's coming on. Commentators just commented about it being strange he gets called up over players like Robinho and Pato.

Not really as jo has done for atletico who are Brazilian and not Italian like the commentator said

Brazil is also not very forgiving to players who move abroad and aren't doing well or playing at a big club
