I see this being a Levy deal if inter lower there price enough! I heard Baldini would try but has been told to leave alone unless they come back to us with a offer lower than our last offer.

Damiao, Paulinho and Bernard sounds cool on paper, but I think you have to worry about the acclimation period for each of them.

I think Paulinho could be an instant contributor, but for a lot of us who want an instant-impact in both the creative department and lone striker position, heeding our expectations (initially), should we land all three, will be very important.

If we sign the whole damn Brazilian national team will we have enough home grown players? I'm assuming we'd have to sell some of them in order to make way for the South Americans.

BREAKING: A source close to Brazilian club Internacional had said that striker Leandro Damião is very close to signing for Tottenham.

Are we there yet....

If we signed the whole Brazilian national team, then no, we would not have enough home grown players, but we would have a decent shout at winning our first Confederations Cup. If we sign three we will be totally fine.

That's true, but on the plus side the players will be at least a little familiar with each other from international training get together's and games and will be in peak fitness (although that might start to tell late in the season)

I think easing quality players in, rather than throwing them in at the deep end day one with huge expectations doesn't necessarily hurt us, for one the competition and desire to keep a place might motivate one of two current players to higher performances and the newer players can maybe benefit coming in later in early season games as opposing teams start to tire and when they might have opportunity to exploit that, which in turn can boost early confidence

Of course you are right that we shouldn't overload the players with excessive expectations too soon

Is there anyone that actually wants any players to come to Tottenham? All I seem to read lately is how players should go to other clubs instead of us, it's bloody annoying. Blanc said it about Lloris coming to us when Brad was 1st choice, Dante about Bernard, now Careca to Damiao. Zidane is trying to push Bale into handing a transfer request too. It seems like if you play for us you're urged to leave and if you don't you're told to steer clear. We need to start getting our former legends to persuade players.
