Please dont shoot the messenger i am just telling fellow YIDS what i heard at the game on Sunday, this info was overheard in the offices at the lane. The Ledley come back will never happen he is to remain at the club as a "token" player:bang:, he wont ever be able to play a full season again and that his injuries are worse than what has been mentioned.:eek:mg: So we will be actively looking for another CB in the summer. I for one have no reason to doubt what has been passed to me, this person does have access to all of the lane offices and ground.

Well it has been at least a fortnight since the last 'Ledley's never going to play again' story. I suppose that if it's posted often enough, one of these days it will be proved to be right.

Why would Ledley King say that he can be fit and play then? Why would he say he wants to win more with us if he knows he's not going to play?

I'll buy it when i eye it - yeah, he's suffered, but i do notice that so far these rumours come with no detail other than "he's off" so, until i see a decent medical opinion and explanation of what's up with our Cap'n then he's not done for.

It does, however, bring up the very valid question of cybernetic enhancement in football - how far can a player be "modified" before it's considered unsporting? Does it have any place in the game? Can Ledley's knee be fitted with some kind of tighter spring in the knee, giving him a harder kick, a higher jump? If so then surely that would be considered an unfair advantage...

What about Cech having a small implant in his busted cheek bone, just below the eye socket, analyzing player movement and displaying it on a top-down HUD for him?

Steed, as we all know, sports an "implant" - does the extra weight and girth lend him a better balance? His technique has improved measurably since he joined us - about the time he had said op. - is it really coaching techniques or does his extra manliness work like a gyroscope or something?

yeah, i like my thread better - get outta here with your Ledley's Retiring talk! Shoo!

You might have meant it tongue in cheek, but it is a bloody good topic for future debate!!

I heard Ledley was abducted by aliens and what we have is a prototype robot which won't be ready for pre-season, and it's power cell doesn't meet carbon footprint standards. I have to admit though, my source is dodgy. It could be an expensive summer if King isn't going to be fit.

Ah, they didn't buy it from MESH did they?

MESH suck both of Satans firey balls at the same time, i'm the owner of one expensive but dead tower unit and one laptop that's held together with string and has to have fans pointed at it to stop it catching light.

I would imagine that if a cyber-Ledley has a fault then the shipping costs they'd make you pay at MESH would be obscene... it's done on size now, rather than weight too, huh? So he'd clasify as... i dunno, what, a massive dude in a box size?

who knows...

There you go - a challenge for anyone who works in the postal or courier services - how much would it cost to send Ledley King in a crate to... i dunno, lets say Switzerland - they mend all kinds of stuff out there.

I think we're ready for the robot upgrade. I reckon Ledley last year was effectively our Cyberdyne Systems Model T-101 and we all saw how that worked out in Terminator. Hopefully our medical staff are working on bringing us the T-1000 version of Ledley for the new season.

Well, I prefer my story...

So Spurs are happy to pay Ledley 60k a week to be a "token player" (don't even get me started on that phrase). Do me a favour.

Apologies if I've offended :)

oh, these stories really piss me off...

what possible reason could Ledley and the club have for continuing along with these lies (coz if all the rumours are true the club is lying)

there is no purpose, it would only garner more frustration and even mis-trust of the club, so it would be a most counter-productive exercise. (IMO )

Not 100% sure what the value of a token player is ...or indeed what qualities are required to be an effective token player (though we know that injuries are not a problem).

Would other teams be interested in buying a token player for a token fee maybe ? ( not cash , just tokens) Any UEFA rules on how many 'tokens' are allowed per team ? A token ANC where the African token players go for a month midwinter ?

Think I'll have another 'toke' and think this through

Mesh are shit. Never buy from them. I did, my friend did and we regret it. And as for the "afterservice" (Thats what you get from following computer mag recommendations)

As for Ledley, I'll believe what he actually says. Crazy I know.

i need a really good reason as to why Ledley would lie before i start believing these sorts of things.
