C0YS spelling and grammar is as good as a five year old's writing.

Shouldn't it be 'are' instead of 'is' if you're talking about more than one of his qualities. And the missing apostrophe re COYS?

That's no reason to condone it.

It's not an isolated incident and that is the worrying thing. I expect there were people making similar excuses for Gazza...

No Im condoning it at all all I am saying these things happen ints not like it was a serious case of assult and he needs to be helped. Like gazza...only a lot less serious

Kings actions were wrong and a disgrace to the club but watching SSN i think the bouncer has completely over exaggearted and is only looking to sue to make a few bob. There was nothing wrong with his face and there was no gash to the head he claimed.

Ok, I've read all the posts.

To be honest, I am getting sick and tired of Mr King, Hutton, Jenas, Lennon, Huddlestone et al falling out of nightclubs in the early hours off their 'Faces'.

Sir Alex Ferguson nipped it in the bud 17 years ago with Ryan Giggs and Lee Sharpe pissing their contracts up the wall and look what happened after that.

There is no smoke without fire as they say. If we are going to be serious contenders for a top four place at least, someone at THFC needs to have the balls and stop this.

I used to think of Ledley as a modern day Gary Mabbut, an ambassador for the club.

Not any more.
When you hear about Palacios and how he didn't wake HR so as not to disturb him, all I can say is I feel let down by a man who is now an EX hero

It's disappointing. Both Ledley's actions and everyone leaping to his defence.

This is a professional footballer and the club captain. This is a player who has already made headlines for stumbling out of nightclubs, absolutely trolleyed. He should know better.

The last time this happened (at Faces) I suggested that Ledley might have a drink problem, but most people here seemed to think he was just being one of the boys and letting off some steam. Well, I would suggest that if he's still prone to getting pissed and starting aggro, he does need to take a serious look at his drinking.

I hate all this crap about "Oh, we've all gotten pissed. Don't make such a fuss about it.". Yeah, it's true. I get pissed sometimes, but I'm not captain of a massive football club, a role model and on £50,000 a week. He should know better, particularly after last time. If most of us ended up in a drunken fight in the street and our employers heard about it, we'd be looking for a new job.

If some bouncer gets a bit lippy, take a deep breath and walk away. If Ledley is suffering from mental health issues (depression/alcoholism) then those need to be addressed by him and the club. If he's just a big-time charlie who can't handle his booze, then he needs a proper talking to.

I don't think Redknapp is the type do that, if anything he'll encourage it.

Man utd have won many things with there players staying in hotels and calling prostitutes etc etc. There is nothing to suggest these things still don't happen. Teddy Sheringham always went gambling during his spare time at spurs man utd etc however latter he seemed to go against this latter on in his career. Johnny Evans has even had charges of rape against him!!

Footballers are footballer they all do this stuff none less then Man utd

The point is to nip it in the bud before it has the chance to get as serious as Gazza.

As others have mentioned something like this has been on the cards for quite awhile now. Maybe if the club had come down hard on him, this incident would never have occurred?

As someone else mentioned. I used to think of Ledley as a modern Garry Mabbutt. Not sure that I do anymore. Forget the assault, we don't know the full facts. Our club captain, our ambassador for the club we love, should not be repeatedly getting themselves involved in situations such as these.

The more I read about it the lower he drops in my books. We all go on about Barton and many other players who behave badly both on and off the field but when you think about the support both the club and his team mates have shown him over the years its a real kick in the ass for their troubles but worst of all the fans, the little ones that look up to him and the ones that adore him. The fucking guys got no legs but still manages to get legless

If the stories printed about him are true then not even an apology is enough so the $1m question is what can the club do

Hello COYS.

Read this quote carefully: "Your excuses are your own".

And on the subject of poor muscle tissue repair through substance abuse, be-it alcohol or drugs, the muscles and the body rely totally on water, minerals and salts to return to normal, in order to repair.

Him being our skipper, that's why LK is losing my admiration.

I am really shocked to read all this - it was pretty obvious that Ledley drinks a lot but I find it hard to imagine him being so aggressive because he comes over as a gentle giant. What a sad few weeks for the club.

Eh? I'm pretty sure there was an interview with Redknapp a while back where he said he doesn't want his players drinking and embarassing themselves. Can't find the exact article but it was around the time Gio was caught smashed and stumbling out of a club.

But then you've always disliked Redknapp anyway............

I don't pay 900 quid for a season ticket to expect this. I don't accept to pay my money to provide a professional player, who let's face it we would all swap shoes with, to go clubbing and piss my money (and yours) up the wall with fights and police bail terms.

He should stay away from these places and respect the men and women who pay his wages, whether through season tickets, sponsorship or merchandise.
