Hull City have a good relationship with our Transfers Out Dept.

They have had Thelwell and Marney recently and of course Spurs old boy Barmby is currently put out to grass there.

they could do worse for £1mill that's for sure. Good stadium and a decent set of fans so it could be a useful kick start to the lad's career.

I was hoping Barnard would be loaned somewhere till Xmas, with our having the option to recall him in case of injuries.
Barney has never had a proper loan spell at Championship level (because of his own bad luck with injuries) so it's very hard to tell just how good he is.
He could be another Chopra - one good season in the Championship and he gets a move back to the Premiership for five times the money Newcastle sold him for.
Or he could be another Rory Allen or Paul McVeigh - another Spurs wonderkid who ultimately isn't of Premier League quality.
So, personally, I'd rather loan him and make a permanent decision next summer.

with the 4 strikers we have now, and some of the younger forwads coming threw, barnard probably wont get much of a lookin in for now, and probably not in the future too much

1million is a great price for a reserve

dont think he is going to make the grade for us, im happy for us to keep him as a 5th choice but maybe he is too good for the reserves now and is also holding back younger players who could play there. sounds a good deal for all concerned.

I'd rather we kept him as our 5th striker with so many games coming up such as Carling UEFA, but wouldn't like to see his career held back either - As with TonyG I wish them well whatever decision they make

Hi dc, i dont think it would be fair to keep barnard if he can get 1st team football, i would only keep him if we were getting rid of defoe and there was a chance of barnard getting some games by promoting him to 4th choice.

think we can get by with only 4 strikers, if we need to bent and berbs can both play up front on there own, i hope were going to sign another winger too maybe that player could also play off a lone front man in emergencies, certainly a robben or vander vaart type that jol rates could.

fantastic move, as much as we all want barney to succed it dosent look likely to happen, we have 4 top class strikers not to mention peckhart and dixon coming through. plus b arney is 23 odd isnt he (probably wrong) but he needs 1st team football and it wont come at spurs

Hi LD :) - as I said I think it's up to the player - if he wants to go then fine - however there's every chance that most weeks one of our 'fab four' will be injured/suspended or otherwise indisposed. Given that we want to rotate successfully for Carling/UEFA/FA/Prem I have a feeling Lee could be used even if only from bench

However as I say it's up to the player and I wish him well whatever decision he takes

I've only seen him play a couple of times, plus some of the goals for the reserves - but hes sort of a hero for me still.

Think its a shame - and really sends out bad signals aswell - if a young homegrown striker scores more than every match for our reserves, and then hardly gets a match for us. Wouldnt want to join our academy the, would you?

Its a good policy to buy all those talented youngsters, but its been some time since we really produced some of our own. Its the King of course, but hes the only one close enough to even SEE the bench, I think.

Having said that - Barney cant wait around for ages, 1 mill is a good price, but I think he'll come back to haunt us...

I think we should sell him if we get £1mill for him. He will be behind all our strikers, and I can't really see him become a real star in the Premier League, to be honest.

The latest on the Barnster is that Crewe want to loan him for a season.

You know, by the time he's done with these flippin' loan spells up and down the country he'll be in his forties...
