cattermole and palacios where great together and where very strong, so they would play well together from the off.

I don't think he's very good. Yet. If Spurs are going for him, then I hope it's for a place on the bench with someone better and more experienced to start.

Ive been very impressed with him this season, however for the money he will cost i think we might have better options. We could have got him lst summer for half of what he will cost now.

Again, who cares how much the club pays for a player? It isn't coming out of your pocket. This argument is played out and doesn't hold much water.

We're a rich club and buying a premiership player so there is always going to be a premium we will pay. Additionally, Levy and co. are really quite sharp so they won't pay it if they don't *feel* it is worth it.

He's been great for Wigan, I think he's the type of midfielder we need in our ranks. We have enough flair but not enough bite bar Wilson

It matters to me how much my club spends on a player.

exactly, its not all about star players, we need a few water carriers to complement our flair and pace. Thats been our problem for years, to many fancy dans and not enough pitbulls.

If it's to replace Zokora then yes, he's a better version of him, so a squad player and nothing else, we should be aiming higher.

Why? I don't understand this argument. The thing that should matter is whether that player will be effective on the pitch. NOT how much the player cost.

If we were Man City I would agree with you but surely it matters if we have a transfer budget to adhere to?

We have enough flair ? Strange thing to say. The reason we aren't a top four side is because we don't have enough flair.

Who are all these flair players we have ? Last time I looked we had Modric.

He is a downgrade on Jenas by some way.

He's only 21. He wouldn't be signed to be a regular in the first team. He'd be signed to replace O'Hara and possibly Huddlestone as a young up and coming player with plenty of potential. Comparing him to Jenas who has had numerous years experience in the Premier League is pretty pointless. I dont think Jenas is going anywhere, and having another article on him on the Official Site recentlly, suggests he's still very much in the circle of the club.

Palacios has the perfect balance for what we require from a central defensive minded player. Cattermole offers absolutely nothing going forward. I agree we will need to replace Zokora if he leaves and will require a back up for Palacios.

I think Lee Cattermole is a decent prospect, though a move for him suggests we will be conservative next season. Expect 4-5-1's regularly Away from home.
