It'll be pretty much the same team from the first game without probably Eriksen

I agree. Well I'm not sure whether Eriksen will play or not but I don't think we'll see the amount of changes that some may want, rarely seems the case with Poch. I don't like Son as a striker but like the 1st tie I would be happy to see Kane rested again. Would be great to see Dier rested too.

Players who I mostly want to see saved for the weekend are Kane, Lamela, Dier and Dembele. Although Lamela somehow never appears to be tired!

This makes sense. I'd maybe have Dembele in for Bents, just so that we can retain possession in the middle. Dembele hasn't been over played the last few weeks so he should be fit enough...

Alternatively, a part of me wants us to field our strongest 11 and blow their shit second string out of the water in the first half hour before seeing the game out with our key players subbed.

I'd like to see Winks and CCV both play tomorrow. Lloris, rest Dier and Toby. Son or Chadli up front with Onomah and Lamela making up the front 4. Walker and Rose as wing backs Verts and Wimmer with CCV as 3 CBs.

Lloris, Wimmer, CCV, Verts, Walker, Winks, Onomah, Rose, Lamela, Chadli and Son.
Subs Vorm, Kane, Carroll, Ericsen, Bentaleb, Dembele and Dier

As @Mr Pink said earlier in the thread, Dembele has become crucial for us this season and isn't really suited to too many games in quick succession. For me the Palace game is more important so I'd save him for that.

I do take your concerns about the midfield though. Not sure Carroll and Bentaleb have quite got enough, although I expect Leicester to play a weakened team as well.

Think Bentaleb is out but don't think he and Carroll would offer any resistance in MF. I'd quite like Dembele and Winks in there myself.

Seeing as it hasn't been put in here yet, figured I'd do it. It may help one or two with team selection, or help how to negate the need for Dembele (who must be rested)...

Tottenham Academy@thfcacademy
And finally, I hear both Carter-Vickers and Winks are set to be in the squad for the first team game on Wednesday

Interesting.

I wonder if maybe we're going for wholesale changes then, or whether Poch simply sees it as an opportunity to get them on in the 2nd half.

You know what? I'd love to win the FA Cup (and any other silverware available) but I'd also love to see some of the youngsters I've read so much about, playing alongside some carefully selected first teamers.

Poch knows much more than I do, and countless members on here know significantly more than I do about our young players, too. Whether they're good enough to play in such a game, is for the more knowledgeable to discuss. But on a purely selfish level, I'd like to see as many as possible played, without too much detriment to our chances of going through to the next round.

I really don't care that much about the FA Cup (if no other clubs do then why should we?) but at the same time there's no benefit to just throwing the kids into a complete B-team, as there will be no cohesion around them.

It's a tough one. I think for this game I'd like to see them on the bench and then brought on if appropriate.

The fact we have Colchester in the next round IF we get through makes me think Poch may field a strong-ish side tomorrow in the hope we get through. Then we can rotate heavily vs Colchester. Real chance to progress further and win a cup.

With favourable draws we might get a long way in the cup with second string .. And be pleased we got through.

We also need game time for second string as first string have so few injuries

Aldervelde. Dembele Kane Dier and Lloris are our spine ... Should rest them all

So play full rotated squad ... But motivate the heck out of them to realise we really care!!

Play:

Vorm
Trippier C-Vickers Wimmer Rose
Bentaleb Carroll
Onomah Winks Chadli
Son

We'd have to rotate against Colchester, as we have the Europa League either side of that weekend.

It's another reason I wouldn't be gutted to see us go out, as personally I'd prefer to win the Europa League than the FA Cup, and I think if we remain in all 3 competitions we'll end up struggling.

I'd go with a weakened team tonight, and then if they progress, the same team should be able to do for Colchester. At that stage we could then take it a bit more seriously.

Stupid TSH.

Of course a weakened team tonight would be fine.

Tomorrow night may be a different issue though.

Can't say I'm getting the feeling that CCV is deemed ready for a full debut in an away outing against strong PL opposition.

A few weeks ago Poch said that Pritchard was nearly ready and suggested he could be fit for Sunderland. Does anyone know if he had a setback or could he be fit for this game? I am really looking forward to seeing how he gets. That said I will be on the road in France during the game so will miss it! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'd start 5 academy boys. CCV, Bentaleb, Winks, Carroll and Onomah. Vorm, Walker, Wimmer, Davies, Chadli and Son make up the rest of the team. Gotta fully rotate and give others a chance to work their way into the team.
