Doesn't score enough goals to play there mate.

Right Middle not Right Wing Forward?! Did you mix the 2 up? I said Lennon can play RM as he can defend, pass and still be a challenge. Goals from the RWF as in William or such other

Yeah I did, apologies I mis-read it but RM in a 4-3-3?

Please explain that to me?

For people who are suggesting Walcott as a better option, he actually wants to play as a centre forward and this is reported to be a big issue in him signing a new contract at Arsenal.

He no wanna play right wing anymore hombres.

I still cant believe people are considering Walnutt. The guy is not that good a player. Sure the guy is better than me but he aint better than Lennon.

he scores more but i think that is because he wants to. Lennon gets in position often enough but mostly passes

This thread has analysed Lennons game so much it's pretty funny. Think everyone agrees we like him, he is a good player, and a Spurs man now. If an upgrades available lets get him, but no one has identified a decent replacement/competition. William I feel is unrealistic, possibly Nani if SAF doesn't want him anymore?

Personally I would like us to get another CM in the Modric mold rather then a Lennon replacement.

I think that kind of defeats the object of a 4-3-3 TBH, unless you mean RCM, in that case wouldn't have Lennon down as a CM, in theory I can see where you're going but it wouldn't work for many reasons as Lennon isn't a centre midfielder.

I've just noticed you have put wing backs as well :D

To dare is to do eh? ;)

So you want to play a midget who doesn't put his foot on the ball, can't tackle, can't head the ball and a has limited passing range in central midfield..?

Iniesta plays there, his passing far surpasses Lennon's but defensively Lennon is as good. They are very different attacking wise, one being speed he other trickery

Well unfortunately we don't play ourselves each weekend. Other teams do kick it long from goal kicks and out of defence. How about when we're marking at set pieces?

Lennon has played on the wing his whole career for a reason. His passing is LIMITED, he PRESSES and doesn't tackle much, he is a WINGER FFS! Playing him in central midfield makes as much sense as playing Walker at right wing.

I know, Imagine playing Jose Enrique at LW! What a disaster that would be... Don't be so blinded by a tag that you miss the opportunity. Look at Henry, LW @ Juve - Class ST @ Arsenal, Michu, Dwight Yorke, Fellaini, Marchisio, Bale, Mascherano... and the list goes on of players who have taken to a new position and thrived

It's not about being blinded. Enrique has the technical ability to play LW. Walker hardly has the technical ability to play RB let alone RW!

Lennon would be sh*t in central midfield. There are so many reasons that it's hardly worth going into.

Well nothing epitomises what you just commented on than Lennon v West Spam. The guy is unselfish and the guy is a superb team player.

It aint the first time lennon has been unselfish and won't be the last time.

Lennon could and would score more except a) he is constantly defending and helping out Walker and people seem to forget what the manager wants of him which will of course hinder his goals tally

Five minutes have passed and still no sign of a (b). Should I continue to wait or concede that there is no (b)?

I've said it many times before and will say it again Lennon needs to score more goals...simple.

Doesn't score enough goals to play there mate.

I've said it many times before and will say it again Lennon needs to score more goals...simple.

One of the reason Lennon has scored few goals in the past has been our 4-4-2 formation, that has required him to work as a touchline-hugging winger the majority of the time. This has been important to stretch opposition defences, but it keeps him away from the penalty area, except when we counter-attack at pace from a defensive position.

In a 4-3-3 formation, with Lennon as the right-sided attacking player in a trio, he should spend more time in and about the penalty area and that should get him more goals. I think this is already visible this season: he cuts inside more often and spend less time right out on the line, waiting for the ball.

So there's an element of circular-logic, or perhaps I mean self-fulfilling prophecy, about these suggestions: he doesn't score enough goals, so he shouldn't play in a position where he might score more goals...? Hmm.

I don't get your point. Lennon would be shit at CM but Walker could do a decent job at RW.
