What does this mean exactly? Kieran Maguire retweet so presume it's posted with knowledge. Suggests Chelsea can make another sale of land/buildings to themselves to get the right side of PSR.

The land and buildings could only be the ground and the training centre and of these the ground is likely to have much the greater value.

But the freehold of the ground is held by the Chelsea Pitch Owners Co and it seems unlikely that the club could sell its interest in the buildings without the approval of the freehold owners. There are 20,000+ shareholders in the Pitch Owners Co and getting their approval would take time and might not be forthcoming given that the reason for creating the Pitch Owners Co was suspicion that the ground might be sold off to developers.

I always tell my son you’re lucky to be born in the 21st century. I remind him constantly that if he was born 100 years earlier he likely would’ve had no dad as he would’ve likely been killed in WW1, he would have to work up a chimney or down a mine to put food on the table, no FIFA, no nice food, a miserable horrible time. Now I can add “Arsenal and Tottenham fans used to get along back then” to the list.
Cats and dogs, living together... Mass hysteria!

Hopefully they'll bounce back against Villa.

They won't.

They'll bounce back against us.

The ****s.

Do wonder where this is all going with Chelsea , enormous wage bill , their last accounts artificially massaged by selling the hotels, same as us with no Euro prize money this season the next accounts will show around a £50 million shortfall in revenue, they don't look like making it to a Euro spot for next season and a rumoured fire sale of players before June 30th.
Such fun.

That is just shocking,, to spend all those millions and be that reliant on one player.
It's a disasterclass in squad building. An example that will echo through the ages.

There's no experience whatsoever. The oldest player in their XI yesterday was 26 and that was Disasi who feels and plays like an inexperienced kid. The only players with genuine experience are Silva, well past it at 39, and Sterling, who has flopped big time in what should be prime age.

It's the ultimate proof that you can't challenge at the top end of the table with a squad full of young players that have come in from all over the world and have to adapt to a new league and a new life at the same time. I'm sure several of those players would be a lot better in the right environment, but Chelsea today is not that and looks a million miles away from being that.

Bringing Silva on at 0-5 was harsh! Guy’s got about a million caps and has been one of their best players over last couple of years, I’d say that was poor from Poch.

A good write up from Barney Ronay in the Guardian. Nice to see we still have some decent football journalists willing to put some effort into their reports.

This line is a beauty: ‘Martin Ødegaard was sublime, such an odd mix of roughhouse pressing and wonderful surgical passing, like being hounded to death by a poet’.

This bit is lovely too: ’Mudryk-Madueke-Jackson-Gallagher. This is a strange human soup, disparate parts, human talent as amortised numbers. We are the stuffed men. We are the hollow men. We are the Chelsea midfield. Imagine not beating this Chelsea team 5-0’.

It's incredible to witness what is happening at Chelsea. Poch has looked utterly miserable from the moment he was appointed. I still love the guy but my goodness what was he thinking taking that job.

Gallagher was the only player in that Chelsea team last night that looked like he belonged at PL level.

Yeah he at least looked like he was trying to turn things around, worked hard and kept going. The rest of that team was a total shambles.

Doesn't reflect very well on their Manager or coaches. They have a real problem. They have too many very over paid players on very long contracts. Not sure anyone can sort them out.

You could see someone else coming in, getting a momentary boost in performance as players try to impress, before returning to the underlying shambles.
Far too big a squad, which wlll always lead to far too many unhappy players and a toxic environment.

They need a clear out but with players on such long contracts and big salaries, who aren't performing it'd be at a huge loss.
