Chelsea could have had THIS very enviable strike force this season and for further seasons to come:
  • Diego Costa
  • Daniel Sturridge
  • Romelu Lukaku
Doesn't really matter, they can buy pretty much any strikeforce they want pretty much any time they want. They have the luxury of being lackadaisical where it concerns transfers/ players

And i am pretty sure that they let Everton take Lukaku in order to give Everton an edge over us, pool, Utd and Arsenal.

Good points, although letting Liverpool take Sturridge didn't work out quite so well for them, as he helped them to finish above Chelsea, where a few points give or take in the top 3 could have had Liverpool taking the title and Chelsea on equal points finishing just behind due to one or more Sturridge goals! Maybe they were trying to give Liverpool the edge over us, Utd and Arsenal and they certainly helped them achieve that but perhaps not to the extent of giving them the edge over themselves.

I don't think it's a simple as that though, they can't always just get what they want all the time. There's no guarantees that they will be able to do that. But even for this season, if costa gets a serious season ending injury, they've only got an old dog of a Drogba and Remy. What incredible cover sturridge and lukaku would be. All it will take is a failed transfer for next season and they will be down to Costa and Remy, assuming Drogba has moved on.

He is bitching and moaning like a stroppy teenager again

Jose Mourinho insists Chelsea are treated differently, as he contests a charge for claiming there is a "campaign" to influence referees' decisions against his side.

He cited Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger escaping sanction for shoving him during October's league match.

"With Chelsea and with me the reactions are different," said Mourinho.

"Do you think if I push a manager in the technical area that I don't have a stadium ban? I have a stadium ban."

Speaking at a news conference beforeChelsea's trip to Swansea City on Saturday, the Portuguese also highlighted Manchester United defender Chris Smalling's unpunished handball against Stoke on 1 January.

"Would you think such a penalty against Chelsea would have a reaction in the media and with managers in the same way?" he asked.

"I don't think so. After that, the reaction would be double or treble, so obviously a referee needs to feel free, relaxed and with no pressure to do the best they can."

Mourinho's "campaign" comments, made after his side were denied a penalty in the 1-1 draw with Southampton on 28 December, earned him a Football Association misconduct charge.

He added: "Referees are not guilty, they want to do their best but clearly there are measures and there are ways of reacting.

"Clearly with my club and in relation to myself there are different standards, it's as simple as that and you know that."

Mourinho was issued with a formal warning for comments ahead of Chelsea's 2-0 win at Stokeon 22 December.

He had called on referee Neil Swarbrick toproduce a strong performance at the Britannia Stadium.

Are we sure that Balotelli isn't his love child? He'll soon be wearing a "why me" t shirt.

Costa to Chelsea £50m all agreed. That's a very strong rumour I was told yesterday by a chav itk.

That's why you never believe what a chav says. £50mil? Considering his buy out clause was 35 or something, stupid twats, the lot of them.

They certainly are treated differently. That "goal" in the cup semi at Wembley was obviously well over the line, as was Lampards rocket that Gomes allowed in at their gaff the other year. That was also a great challenge by their defender the other week, kicking then stamping on a prostrate opponent which half the worlds population saw clearly. I cant believe they're only allowed five or six players to surround the ref to argue the toss about a throw in, when everyone else is allowed a whole team. They're also rightly exempted from the gentlemen's rule of giving the ball back after their opponents graciously put it out to allow their injured/acting players to receive treatment. Also seems they're rightly allowed to buy millions of young players and loan them out, to stop their rivals getting them to help them deal with their insecurity and fear of competition. Special ones indeed, special needsy classless Chelsea. Mutton dressed as lamb.

I'm surprised they trust this guy (Billy McCulloch, chelsea's head physio or masseuse or something) with a jumper, never mind millions of pounds worth of players

Champions must meet FFP - Mourinho

I agree he has a nerve BUT Jose doesn't set the rules, they weren't breaking any when they spent stupid money, and he is right that it's unfair that some teams can suceed by breaking the rules whilst the rest conform.

Premier league should hold back the tv money of any team breaking the rules and distribute it through the rest of the league.

it's ironic really, the TV deal pulls in these huge figures BECAUSE of clubs like City, Chelsea and Man U spending stupid amount of money on superstars

"Chelsea will be appealing against the red card shown to Nemanja Matic for his reaction to a challenge by Burnley's Ashley Barnes in Saturday 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

"The Blues have until 13:00 GMT on Tuesday to submit their evidence to the Football Association.

"Matic's appeal will then go before an independent three-person disciplinary commission before Chelsea's League Cup final against Tottenham on Sunday.

"Meanwhile, the Chelsea board are understood to be comfortable and completely supportive of manager Jose Mourinho's comment about Barnes and referees on Sky programme Goals on Sunday yesterday.

"Contrary to reports, the club insist Mourinho was invited on to the programme after a long-standing request was granted on Saturday evening - and not the other way round."

This has to be one of the most frivolous appeals ever. Sure, Barnes should have been sent off, but a red was also correct for Matic's reaction. You know they're just appealing out of spite. If the FA had any balls they'd instantly slap another match on his ban. Somehow I can see them caving in.
