It's going to be Potter unfortunately. Can't see him turning down Chelsea whilst his stock is high. Although perhaps he thinks a few bad results and I might get the chop, hopefully.

Tuchel reminds me of the guy who thinks he is always the smartest person in the room and can't understand or get along with anyone that does not agree with him.

Regarding the team going forward, I don't know how any manager could figure out a system of play that would make best use of that roster. They signed a top class winger, but do not use wingers in their current system and have 3 on their roster. They played with 2 attacking mids behind the striker, but only have 2 or 3 on the roster. There are a bunch of CMs for 2 positions. It is a mess so good luck to whomever comes in.

Poch is a downgrade on Tuchel so if they get him that’s fine by me.
Yeah don't think this is a slight on Tuchel, despite the money it seems like a tricky environment at Chelsea. Different culture of impatience and big egos. He's clearly a good, modern coach (I mean he won the CL for fucks sake), I think he'd be a good fit for us.

This Twitter thread is pretty enlightening on the situation. Given their reasoning for sacking him, Potter does seem like the obvious one for them to push for to signify the start of a new era.

Sorry, that is absolute bollox.

They are just getting things out there to try and save face a bit because the overwhelming reaction has been "thats fucking stupid"

If they wanted a new era then get him out in the summer so a new manager gets his transfers in, a summer with the players etc...

They will always be the same old Chelsea.

I think most managers see Chelsea as a bit of a free hit, like United in a way. If things go wrong there are so many club specific issues you can point to to absolve yourself of blame.

I mean that does make sense if Tuchel has had virtually no input into signings and it's been Boehly pulling the strings, but at the same time hopefully a red flag for any incoming coach.

Looks like it will be Potter then as Brighton have said it's fine to talk to him. Can't see him turning them down.

Potter won't be given any time to implement his thing.

Chelsea as we all know what instant success, they want someone who will rock in and win them something this season.
