Sorry, that is absolute bollox.

They are just getting things out there to try and save face a bit because the overwhelming reaction has been "thats fucking stupid"

If they wanted a new era then get him out in the summer so a new manager gets his transfers in, a summer with the players etc...

They will always be the same old Chelsea.
I find it believable tbh.

Even though Tuchel had a poor end to the season, it's still hard to sack a manager who got you CL football, 2 cup finals and won the CL itself only a year ago, especially when you're a green new owner with no knowledge of the game.

Tuchel's stock was still relatively high last summer and I think if Boehly came in and immediately sacked him the PR would've been a hell of a lot worse than sacking him now after a poor start to the season, which at least gives Boehly some justification.

Can also definitely buy Boehly and Tuchel's personal relationship growing more strained the longer he was there - that sounds like Tuchel all over.

Was hoping Potter would get the England job post Southgate. Annoying if he goes for Chelsea just for that alone.

I doubt he would want the England job at this stage of his career. I don’t think ambitious young managers would want it.

I think there's a really good chance Boehly just wants the previous era done with and would actually give Potter plenty of time.

He just spent 250m, not sure the new guy will get as much time as you think

Pochettino AND Potter are both arguably downgrades on Tuchel, who for all his faults won the Champions League the season before last and steered Chelsea to two cup finals last year and finished third behind two of the greatest teams in Premier League history.

Potter does look excellent though and may be great for them. But he has a high benchmark to meet given the kind of success Chelsea expect. It will be interesting to see how much time and backing they give him.

What Poch and Potter achieved (are achieving) with their respective Spurs/Brighton squads is vastly more impressive than Tuchel's reign at Chelsea and PSG where he had the two of the most expensively assembled and high wage squads in history.

He's kept the Dodgers manager since 2016 despite him failing to win the World Series with the best team in baseball until 2020 and it being the only time they won.

Tuchel immediately becomes the best manager available on the market. Top coach imo. If things went wrong with Conte I’d want him straight away.
Mate, you don’t seem to understand how he works. Tuchel has been hounded out of every major club due to his attitude. BVB chairman: “brilliant coach, difficult person”. PSG wanted rid. Then there is the interview this year where he claims to have been coaching the new Chelsea owners. The guy is either so brilliant but cannot convey it to mortals, or a total dick. I’m veering to the latter. He’s a nightmare!

It's going to need a huge shift in how that club operates for Potter to succeed there, he needs willing players and time on the training ground. Does he make that shift to dealing with big name players and the pressures of a club like Chelsea, I don't think they'll give him the time.

He’ll get to the end of the season at the very least, surely? Can’t see them sacking two coaches in one season.

That is the truth of it, the way I see it. They won't give him the time he will need to implement his style and plans.

Looking at the long contracts they are giving players I reckon who ever comes in will get a 5-7 year contract. Great security even if it goes tits up on the money they pay

And do the big name big money players adopt and accept a manager that has never managed in Europe before, wasn't a particularly good or well known player, and has never really experienced elite players or their demands etc.
