They tried to sell them in January. Don't see how it will be any different in the first couple of weeks of the Summer window unless the price tags drop significantly, and not just because they'll have less time on their contracts. It'll need to be a fire sale imo.

Sure but even in a fire sale though should get 80m for the lot although not sure if that will be enough

That may well be true. If they reduce the price enough, can find clubs with enough money willing to take them, and also they need to be clubs that the players will play for, then they could push the problem down the road, and avoid consequences for this season.

Facts are though with the way they have structured their purchases, the huge wage bill, and lack of European money they will be here again the following Summer.

For next season yes, for this season we are currently in it makes zero difference because he will have already been paid and it will be on this seasons accounts.

They'll be over a barrel when Lukaku's loan is up. I'd be surprised if Roma wanted him again without Mourinho and anyone who does want him will have Chelsea right under their thumb.

I'm absolutely convinced Lukaku will go to Saudi. His comments not long ago praising the league shows he knows which side his bread will be buttered.

Chelsea didn't get extraordinary transfer fees for the players they sold there last summer, but it helped them get a lot of big wages off the books and I suspect we'll see some more of the same.

Seems about the only feasible outcome except for the fact that the Saudi league is a complete crock of shit and players are queueing up to get out of it.

Indeed. The Saudi dream that they were selling to players last Summer is very different to the here and now reality.

Which made his comments, which were said after the Henderson malarkey and Laporte and others had made their feelings known, all the more revealing. He must have seen that some fellow European pros weren't happy there and he still said what he said.

Quotes for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Which is great so when some of say why the fuck should we help them if we can get Colwill and Gallagher on the cheap then its great for us fir short and long term and only great for them for 12 months

My take on this is someone will bite at the knock off fees so don't see why it shouldn't be us. Colwill is a decent left footed centre half

I used to do work with CFC, the stewarding side of things. They run a programme (or used to) that takes offenders like this to see the camps in Europe from WW2 to educate them...

Maybe the Chelsea board are willing to accept a 10/15 point deduction? They will be safe from relegation next season (you would imagine) and would still allow them to aim for the conference league / europa.

I can’t see them getting deducted more than that, even if they do, they will drag it through appeal.

Chelsea trying to poach Brighton’s head of recruitment.
Desperate to steal other team’s infrastructure and creative ideas.
Desperate to catch-up.

Lukaku is on around £325k a week with 2 years left on his contract this summer. I can't see them getting a much better deal than finding a club to take him on a free.
Lukaku is courting Saudi league massively, I could see one of the Saudi clubs that Chelsea ownership also has ownership in to lug a 50mil offer on the table for him

Don't understand this if it is true. This chap is successful in one specific area - buying relatively cheap players who can later be sold at a big profit. How does that fit the Chelsea way of doing things ?

Isn't it about spotting young talent, which lines up with Chelsea buying all the young "future superstars" ? At least, that's what I thought they were trying to do with

Probably tied to their FFP situation. Relatively cheap players that they might be able to turn a profit on could well be all they'll be buying for a few years.
