Seems lenient to me in terms of ban. Shouting “you’re a fucking joke” in the refs face and then failing to leave the pitch when told, should be more than an additional one match ban.

Only thing I can think of is they start at 1 game, if does it again goes to 2, then 3 ect.

Bit surprised they didn't make more of an example here and give him a 3 match ban.

If they do that, everyone after needs to be the same. You could end up with so many players suspended that way!
Start with 1 game hopefully that starts players realizing they can't do it.

I'd be quite happy to see any player who tells the ref to fuck off be suspended for 3 games - suspect it'd put a stop to it fairly quickly.

You see players saying fuck off the the ref after something goes against them most games.

The refusing to leave the pitch and in his face was worse IMO than saying fuck off.

Just because things happen frequently doesn't mean it's OK.

The PL really needs to set an example (a good one obviously) and I thought some of the bits about carding managers, only talking to captains etc was a first step towards doing so.

If I was in charge (one day!!!!), I'd be a lot more draconian about it - zero tolerance for any of the bullshit.

And that'd why he got an extra game ban, because it isn't right. No one has said it is right.

I am just putting the opinion over that saying fuck off to a ref isn't really worthy a 3 game ban.

Many players say it when things go against them (not saying it's right, should be a booking or if after a red extra ban ect) but to put it into perspective are we saying that it's the same as someone going 2 footed into a player? They would both then have the same punishment.

Yep, it's all just onions at the end of the day.

I'd really like to see the FA and the PL do something about the disrespect, the cheating, the complaining, the intimidation of refs and so for me, I'd have it as a very serious offence.

As the FA and PL haven't come out and said that's what they will do it would be unfair on VVD to do this. I recognise that, but would still like it to happen. Not explaining myself well - as things stand the punishment may be just, but I'd like to see them really tackle this and take a very hard line.
