Bloody hell, I haven't seen the incident but to not increase a ban on that seems ridiculous.

What time is the march and virgil starting? Mane is innocent t shirts available soon.

LoL

Also, reading further in (I know...it's like being mesmerized), the Mickeys really do seem to believe that all the comments against Mane could only be made by United fans. It's like they have no awareness that the rest of the footballing world hates them too!

I like Raphael Honigstein's driving analogy. If you're caught speeding you get a little fine and three points, but if you were speeding and hit someone you'd be in big trouble. Mane was speeding, while looking at his phone and hit someone.
I dont like the analogy as Mane was concentrating on the ball(so therefor so busy looking at the road, he didnt see the pedestrian running on the road)

Also if mane hit someone whilst speeding and looking at his fan, he would be looking at prison time

I made a post on FB after the incident and pretty much everyone agreed with my assessment that it was a red and fully deserved.

Except for one Liverpool fan who said : "To be fair he shouldn't have been trying to head the ball"

My response: " Hmmm I tend to find that's what most footballers do when the ball is about 6ft in the air"

It's not a case of hating Liverpool, I think everyone on here would agree that even if it was one of our players it's should have been a retrospective five game ban

So basically;

All the fatties, oldies, fergie funded fa, crybaby armchair fans, mancs, bitters - agree with red and ban

People who've actually play the game, including most of the ex professional premier league players & hard men who don't act dead when they have a cut - 3 games too long

Also the commenters posting 'always the victims never their fault should be ashamed!!

Which one are you? :)

Regardless which club mane belongs too this is a travesty for the modern game, with this it says if you go in for a 50/50 challenge that could endanger a player then u will get auto red card.
Sorry any 50/50 challenge can be pretty dangerous and it usually means both players have put themselves in a dangerous position.
Ederson won't change, eventually hurt himself a lot worse than a cut cheek.

So...Ederson hurt himself :-O

Keeper use to be hard and would of wiped Kante out, it isn't Kante fault that this keeper decided to go head first with his fist out like Superman. Neville, Grobbler, Coral would of gone in studs up like Bruce Lee enter the dragon style!

Good to get Phil Thompson'stake, though :)

The stupid baby keeper dived for goodness sake. Look at the replays showing him rolling around like a pathetic wimp. A proper footballer would have got up and got on with it and realized the challenge was all inthe spirit of the game. Mane was right to go for the ball, it's just a shame the brainless keeper decided to run intohis foot to cheat Mane into a red card The cheat keeper should be banned

Clearly my mistake was to believe that because I started at the end of the thread and worked backwards, the conspiracy Ederson did it on purpose to get Mane sent off, it was his own fault, etc., comments were some kind of nadir. The Mickeys (commenting here) just all seem to be (insane) like this. Has anyone checked RAWK?

Of course we lost the appeal

Why should we be surprised with hysterical pundits and uneducated mancs like those in here around

Yes, of course...only never played football Mancs could possibly believe that challenge was worthy of a red! does he believe the FA appeals panel is made up of hyterical pundits and uneducated mancs?

It's the referee that should be banned disgraceful decision as bad as the ref in Africa who has just been banned for life IMHO.

So, it's Ederson's fault, the refs fault, the FA's fault, fat people who've never played football's fault...anyone other than innocent Mane who was scape-goated, whose fault it was?

I'm glad we lost the appeal. I am a L'pool fan and appealing the ban is ridiculous. There was no malice, but karate kicking someone's face is dangerous and we should just have sucked in the punishment. Appealing makes us look petty.

Fair play to Antony.

Right, that's it...I'm in as far as page 90. Going backwards, that means there are 89 pages to go. I'm fatigued. Fill yer boots :)

He knew Ederson was there, otherwise he wouldn't have challenged for the ball 6ft in the air, he would have run onto it and controlled it as it dropped, so in the analogy, he knows the pedestrian is running onto the road.

I like that this one couldn't even tell which 'random black guy' plays for his team yet he is still aggrieved.

Considering the hatred I would have expected a 4th option along the lines of "Didn't see it but it's a Pool player so of course".

How come Mane didn't try and head the ball past the keeper rather than kick it, surely that would have been easier than getting his leg up to virtually head height?

Could it be because he did actually see the keeper coming and thought he'd be better off going with his foot than his head for self preservation?

I dont agree personally, he knew Ederson was coming out hence why he tried to control it early but imo he wasnt aware he was so close

Do any of you remember when Paulinho was sent off against them for his boot brushing past Suarez's ribs? We proceeded to lose that game 5-0, too. We didn't appeal the red card in the end.

Why the fuck do we have people not understanding how putting your boot through a keeper's face, studs first, is a red card? If his stud went into Ederson's thigh it'd have still been a red card due to the reckless nature of the challenge, the excessive force, the fact he was completely out of control of the challenge and the fact that he's planting a fucking metal stud into somebody else's body at 30mph (or whatever speed the little diving 20p head runs).

In football, there have been so many players sent off for challenges barely at knee height with studs showing but there has never been such a furor about it. Anybody that isn't a 'pool fan that even slightly propagates the notion that it was a debatable red card should be ashamed - it fuels their victim mentality and makes them feel validated in their incoherent, screechy, nonsensical, woe-is-me ramblings.

From the comment section:

"The questions is, who was acting dangerously here? The player going for a ball to be won, in the middle of the pitch, or the keeper miles out of his area who stuck his head in the way? It's ufortunate he got hurt, but only one player was playing "dangerously" or "endangering" someone, and it wasn't mane... If the city keeper goes with his foot for the same ball, theres no problem..."

What the fuck?? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Pool fans clearly haven't realised that the reason Ederson went for it with his head is because - shock horror - he got there first and didn't need to throw his boot out.

Mane lost the 50/50, planted his boot in Ederson's face, and has been duly punished appropriately. End of discussion.

Have you met any LPool fans?
They will never let you end something- they have to have the final word on everything. (I'm beginning to think my wife was a scouser in a previous life as she's just the bloody same!)
