Quotes from Nuri Sahin on his spell at 'Pool from football365:

The Turkish midfielder joined Liverpool on loan in August but his stay was cut short in January after just seven Premier League appearances.
Sahin is laying the blame for his poor spell firmly at the feet of Rodgers for playing him in the wrong position.
Now back with Borussia Dortmund on loan from Real Madrid, Sahin told AS: "It failed at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers wanted me playing at ten. But I do not play behind the strikers.
"I talked to him and asked why I was playing there - not my actual position.
"The coach could not answer...still, no regrets. To play and stay at Anfield is a wonderful thing. Maybe if I had not gone there I certainly could not have returned to Borussia Dortmund.
"Therefore, I am happy. But I have left Brendan Rodgers, thank God."

Very interested to see how many points they get from their next 6 games:

Southampton (a)
Villa (a)
West Ham (h)
Reading (a)
Chelsea (h)
Newcastle (a)

3 away games to clubs in the relegation scrap and Villa have already shown they can cause them some trouble.

Wow!

Didn't realise how bad losers some Spurs fans are. Its a little pathetic really.

Thought you were above that tbh.

We won. Get over it and move on till next season.

We deserved a point at the Lane but didn't get it, and you deserved a point at Anfield but didn't get it. Thats just football and one of the reasons we love it so much. Anyone can beat anyone on the day.

The best thing about yesterdays game was realising they are stuck with Sturridgeon over 100K a week. The boy is shit, any Chelsea fan will tell you, and they are correct!

He's on 65,000. No new signing will get 100,000 off us until they've proved themselves ala Suarez.

The other issue with Liverpool is that by and large they are quite average across the pitch with one very good player, Suarez, casuing teams problems. Possibly a little hypocritical given what Bale is doing for us right now, but i think even more so with them (don't forget we had injuries to 4 first team outfield players yeterday).

Their problem will be that come season end Suarez will be bid on by a fair few top teams and i can't see them keeping hold of him.

Wishful thinking again coz people know he's the difference. Its like LFC fans who are desperate for Bale to move. Its pathetic on both sides.

Suarez has said again after the game that he doesn't want to move in the Summer but no-one seems to want to take any notice of him and its becoming a bit of a joke now.

If anybody is hoping that he won't be here come September 1st I'm giving you a freindly warning now that you'll be dissappointed.

Summer 2014 is a completely different story though.

If you don't believe what the Pool fans say, one win that was gifted to them because of 2 Brain fart moments doesn't make them in any way a better team than us. The League table doesn't lie, if they finish above us they were better than us over a 38 game season.

However, if that was to happen this season or next or even season after that you wouldn't stick to this reasoning would you.

Say hyperthetically you go on an awful run and we went undefeated and finished above you, and you telling me in May you'd hold your hand up and admit Liverpool had a better team?

Bollocks you would.

You'd be saying what Liverpool fans were saying about you in 2010 thats its a one off, it'll be different next season.

After the weekend and your match tonight, I think what will decide you does better out of the 2 clubs in the next 3 years will come down to who keeps their star player or not.

They won one game against us due to our own mistakes
And then they think that they would be a top4 team this year, and back to challenge the title next year

As usual, I don't understand their logic (if any)

That depends on what we do over the summer and if we manage to avoid collapse and bottle it again this season.

But, I agree. Having Liverpool fans react like that and preparing the open top bus for its latest tour around drama queen central, is quite flattering.

I don't know where you're getting this idea we celebrated like it was a cup final. There was a cheer after the game that was no different than if we'd just beat Everton or Utd. There was added relief because of this media agenda against us of being "flat-track bullies", so were happy to get that off our chest like, so that might of added a bit to the celebration.

I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything but beating Spurs isn't the be-all and end-all to the vast majority of Reds. Beating Utd and Everton will always be the preference unless it was a one-off game, like a final or something. There is no rivalry with Spurs on our behalf so I don't know why a few of you are making out it was "our Cup final". Thats the Utd game atm.

What the living fuck? Are you genuinely serious or just completely stupid?

Go on to any football fan forum after their team has lost a game they should have won and tell me they aren't all bad losers immediately after the result. Every fucking fan with a genuine affection with their club takes losses badly when they know they should have been wins so don't come on here and try and take some sort of moral high ground. We've all been on RAWK and seen the extremely bipolar reactions of "We can be title challengers!" after a win and "Sack the manager and half the players, we're shit" after a defeat.

And a comment on you last line. At White Hart Lane, Spurs scored two goals. Liverpool scored one goal that had absolutely nothing to do with Liverpool and was purely down to a fluke mix up between Lennon and Bale. Were it not for that, it would've been 2-0 to Spurs.

At Anfield, Liverpool scored two goals that had absolutely nothing to do with Liverpool and was purely down to some of the worst fuck ups I've ever seen from Spurs players. Were it not for that, it would've been 1-2 to Spurs.

How do you seriously believe that the two matches between both teams should've ended in a draw? Because you made a load of possession in the middle of the pitch while chasing a goal at White Hart Lane? Whoop de fucking do. Spurs scored four goals against Liverpool in two games this season. Liverpool scored one goal that was actually down to Liverpool.

Again, fuck off. Again, we've all been to RAWK, we've all seen the hatred thrown at Spurs by a massive amount of the members there. We've all seen the desperation in the comments whenever a Spurs game is coming up. We've all seen the anger and pettiness whenever Spurs do well against any team. We've all seen the misery and rage whenever Spurs beat Liverpool.

You seem to think because you're the only Liverpool fan on this board that you speak for the whole fanbase. You're merely one out of hundreds, if not thousands, of Liverpool fans we've encountered on forums like RAWK, and the vast majority hold entirely different opinions to the ones you share on here.

now for the funny bit...some relpys from them
liverpool were class looking forward to next season so they can challange for the league, downing turning into the player they always thought he would be and no way bale would get into there team on his form swear, henderson will be world class, suaraz better than messi if he only played in spain. Rogers great mangar what he has done with his new club and new players ah hello what about avb think its a new club for him to and were 3rd......., spurs spent alot of money over last few seasons on players and when i brought him through what we spent on our squad and what they spent on shit we was taken back a bit hahaha
they it came down to wininng cups i said were in with a chance this season he said what europa league oh yeah he said but what about winning 5 european cups and it will be a long time before they see that 1 again, no he thinks next season they be back in champion league, i asked him who are they playing this weekend he said southampton away i said good luck with that,
and they hate bale to the bone, cheat diver and ugly unreal, and what about suaraz with his diving and cheating hes uruguay bale is british you expect that from forgeiners but not british players.
what a load of crap

Don't want to be too critical of these Liverpool fans but if Brendan is doing so well with KK's squad what does that say about King Kenny ?

I think you've spent a bit too much time with Brendon 'We Won the Passing' Rodgers if you think that you deserved more than you got at the lane. As Legacy said, you knocked it around nicely but didn't threaten much and relied on us to gift you a goal.

I didn't see the game at Andfield but all the match reports I've read say you started lively for the first 10-15 minutes and then we bossed the game until gifting you 2 goals with 2 brain fart moments. My Liverpool supporting mate that sits next to me at work said exactly the same thing as well (after the pre-requisite piss take). Also, all of them used the phrase 'Spurs were the best team to visit Anfield this season'

I honestly think you're indulging in some of the some of the partisan football supporting you seem to like talking about so much. We got what we deserved at the lane and didn't get what we deserved at Anfield.

That's football, but let's not pretend things leveled themselves out between those two games because they clearly didn't.

This is all said as someone who knows when we've got away with one in games (like last night against Milan for instance or when we nicked a win against the hammers a few games ago) but that clearly wasn't the case for us at the lane and clearly was for you at Anfield.

I don't have too many problems with Rodgers, but he did say one thing after the game that really REALLY pissed me off. It was something along the lines of "Today we've done ever so well to beat a really great team that's been together for several years."

It's symptomatic of a trend in coverage that paints Liverpool under Rodgers as a dramatic "revolution" or a "rebuilding" ; a massive shift in personnel and a long-term project of getting a bunch of new players to learn how to play together.

If we actually look at the teams being fielded--particularly during Liverpool's recent good form--this looks like an absurd thing for him to say.

Of the 18 players in the matchday squad for LFC yesterday, 3 of them were signed under Rodgers. AVB and us? 5.

In fact, Liverpool's run of good form has come not coincidentally after Rodgers grew the stones to bench Joe Allen and trust established players like Lucas, Carragher, even ****ing Henderson, et al.

I don't understand why the media take for granted what we've done and act like Liverpool has shipped in an entirely new squad. Look at the players they sold in the summer: the likes of Joe Cole, Maxi, Kuyt, etc. Squad players who were hogging the wage bill. We lost our captain to retirement and two of our top 3 players, in addition to the squad players. It was essentially the equivalent of Liverpool selling Gerrard and two more key players in one window.

The difference is that we've replaced our players more adequately and continued to play at a high level. Liverpool underachieved during the first half of the season but being a legacy team with a UK manager they got the benefit of countless excuses and a positive media framing.

Make no mistake: our adjustment has been even more dramatic than Liverpool's. We've sold and added more players than them and changed management styles more drastically than them.

This isn't an excuse for losing the way we did yesterday and I need not make one because even in defeat we're 9 points clear of them. I just think that little snippet from Rodgers is so pathetically misleading it's honestly shameful.

Toela65, no comment on the over-reaction by Suarez to win the penalty??? Funny that, go to the match thread and look at the Gif, but I suppose who are we to complain about diving huh?
