Their spending right now isn’t adding up. 17/18 they net spent £0 with coutinho money. So 18/19 is a clean slate. With fekir they’ve already spent £155m and still need GK CB back up striker. They must be selling someone big mane is my guess after Madrid links. With those extra players would take them to £250m they couldn’t even do that within FFP. Laugh if it’s salah ?

Anyone else concerned by how well they are buying so far? I hate being jealous of their transfer business, and our targets leave so much to be desired. On top of that they are getting it done early. I will be very suprised if they don’t get a keeper and maybe another defender.

I remember when we were getting things done early and spending a lot of cash, we then sold Bale for a record fee

Of course it’s a possibility, but I still don’t think it will happen this summer. There was lots of talk about Mane leaving so more likely him then Salah.

If they do, then they are in the same position, where they don't have anything outside their starting 11, no quality from the bench, they could be worst off as fekir will have to adjust, Mane is proven in the PL

Every summer we are jealous of their spending. End of the season we finish above them. Same old.

Keita and fekir are massively over hyped. Not saying they aren’t decent players and could well be a roaring success. But neither has done it at the very highest level. Infact neither even set the EL on fire this season. Some of these European players get massively over stated. Was actually looking at fekir stats. And dele has about x4 the number of goals assists at same age. Numbers wise Dele and Eriksen are in a totally different class to what Keita and fekir have achieved so far.

They still add depth to Liverpool's squad, there is talk of them signing Malcom too.

These appear to be good signings but so did Lacazette and Bakayoko. The French league is not always the best barometer for who will be a success in England. I would be massively surprised if all their signings worked out, 1 or 2 are bound to flop.

Too many fans think it's sall still about huge transfer budgets and big names. Yet almost all of our top players were low value signinsg who have been taken by Poch and immensely improved upon.

People need a little faith.

Everyone says Liverpool buy better than us every summer, yet come may we still finish above them.

The difference is they have closed the gap from a points perspective. Sure we have finished above them ( i actually hate that term.... 8 of 9 seasons etc) but they closing the gap and their transfer business always seems focused. Its mit meant as a slight on us but whereas in previous seasons the gap was 8-12 points etc its come down... Were it not for the CL focus it could have been different this season.

Having said that Arsenal and Chelsea havent done much and you would think they would be racing out the blocks to get in quality players to get back in the top 4..

We just must not get complacent... Thats exactly what happened to Arsenal...

They closed the gap last season due to us being at wembley, in fact, they got one less point than the previous season and that was with salah scoring 32 goals for them, so compare the rest of the squad to their performances in the previous season and it can be argued that they did worse.

They were always going to close the gap as we’ve been shitting on them for them last 2 years. We’re not going to finish 10 + points ahead of them every season. Christ, even West Ham finished above them a couple of years ago so well done Liverpool for closing the gap.

They do look ambitious though. MoPo talked about being "brave" this window. I see Pool doing it, I really hope we do. And if they are selling Mane, I wouldn't mind trying to pick him up.
