The kids are demanding new toys though bud.
Those are old toys.
This simple statement really does sum a lot of it up perfectly. Nailed it.

Its a common theme of the summer break on here where all rational thinking just goes out of the window....even sensible posters can come out with all sorts of nonsense. The year before spurgerking predicted us finishing 10th lol.
Boy, this thread has been a fucking belly laughs for weeks, then @piedpiper turns up again. Is he related to @Toela65 by any chance
read the last 2 pages mateWhat's that joker been saying now?

Keita and fekir are massively over hyped. Not saying they aren’t decent players and could well be a roaring success. But neither has done it at the very highest level. Infact neither even set the EL on fire this season. Some of these European players get massively over stated. Was actually looking at fekir stats. And dele has about x4 the number of goals assists at same age. Numbers wise Dele and Eriksen are in a totally different class to what Keita and fekir have achieved so far.
Usual, bigging the bindippers up, admiring them from afar, defending the accusations of being a Niveapool fan whilst admiring them & moaning about us. I've only got bus conductor on ignore (great feature for sure)He's on ignore, give me a brief summary

We've just given H 90 million quid ffs!Old toys that are proven to break when tested.
Splash the cash Tottenham.

Im disgusted with myself tbh.YESS!!! ? I've been waiting to get you ?
They closed the gap last season due to us being at wembley, in fact, they got one less point than the previous season and that was with salah scoring 32 goals for them, so compare the rest of the squad to their performances in the previous season and it can be argued that they did worse.
I wondered into this thread in late December by chance..... Made some complimentary remarks on their transfer business and boy was a force unleashed....
However on your comments above ive come to the following conclusion.. They just dismissive of us as a team (their usual arrogance & living off former glory).. However im begining to believe our fan base and in particular SC posters are obsessed with those c.. Kind people.
When we played the dippers the match day thread was in the 120s + of pages.. When we played Arsenal it couldnt reach 80.. I found that baffling.. But yes i cant disagree with your assessment.

You aint missing much mate
Wembley was definitely a factor, but they've still improved this year. VVD, Roberson and Salah are all upgrades on what they had before. Alexander Arnold looks like a great prospect, and Oxlade Chamberlain finally looks like a good player. I still think we're the second best team in the league and I'm more worried about catching City than anything else, but they're definitely going in the right direction these days.

To be fair the Liverpool games were full of incident so not all that surprising how long the threads were.
You can't sneak Dele in there as someone who was bought to improve the first team straight away! He was definitely one for the future who came in and blew everyone away.
He's definitely a Tottenham fan, I've seen him post in loads of threads over the years. I don't really get why he's getting so much grief. He said they had a decent transfer policy and then they managed to get to the champions league final... It's pretty hard to argue with that part.
The reason for the grief Nailsy is if you dare say anything positive about the dippers its automatically viewed as a slight against Spurs.. Theres a poster in here getting the same grief now just for mentioning their excellent business.
The worse part is dislike them but not as much as i do Chelsea..... But i am able to acknowledge their good work.
I appreciate your ability to be objective and fair-minded, but I think you underestimate the importance of rivalry. Saying something good about someone not on your team does, however much you don't intend it, infer a slight upon your own team.
Did a Labour politician stick up for Amber Rudd and say 'well, at least she's good at maths'?
No.
Did the keyboardist in Ultravox say 'to be fair, that Joe Dolce song is quite catchy and upbeat'?
No.
Did Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman say 'I tell you what, Patrick Bergin was a far more convincing Robin Hood than Kevin'?
Probably. But that's beside the point.
Football is tribal. If you say something complimentary about another team, you are, by default, seen not to be supporting yours. And I get the fact that Liverpool look as if they're doing good business but
(a) as a rule, the team who 'win' the summer transfer window don't win much else
and
(b) take it to the General Transfers thread.
If West Ham ever bought anyone good and someone praised them in the 'Let's all laugh at West Ham thread', I'd have a blue fit. I know this isn't likely to happen but, still, have a care. People come here to laugh at Liverpool and I think that need for petty, bitter schadenfreude borne out of years of Liverpool actually being good (and/or having had to suffer Bread, Boardman, Tarbuck and Lawro all these years) (and/or having had their hub caps half-hinched) should be respected and not diluted with objective assessments of their quality. That's just my views, though.
