Okay i dont wish to spam this thread. Ive done that way too many times before.

I didnt want any other player to miss except him. But was mighty relieved when the Colombian missed the subsequent spot kick.... How have you missed that part.

I still screamed and shouted with joy for every other goal we converted AND especially proud when Trippier converted and screamed with elation when Dier did.
So you were relieved the Colombian missed the spot kick, but you wanted Henderson to miss his. I think I understand. It's just the Henderson bit I don't get.

What if the Colombian hadn't missed, would you still have been happy Henderson missed, and we'd have gone out of the competition? It really doesn't make any sense.

I didn’t want him to miss but you just knew we would miss at least one so I was pleased (for want of a better word) that it was him rather than Trippier that missed it.
And as stated above I believe it was a bit of karma for his lack of support for Karius after the CL final

There's no karma involved. He's just a limited footballer with poor mentality.

He isn’t but the media seem to think he’s great. I’ve said he’s average from day one yet people try to persuade me different. Like I said I’m glad he was the one that missed

To be fair, I don’t think he failed to score because his mentality was poor. Rather, he failed to score because his technique was shite. Frankly, he couldn’t have telegraphed where he was going to put his kick more, short of giving Ospina a scented billet-doux saying "Dear David, I really like you cos you're better than all the keepers I play with. I'm going to put the ball to your left. Love and kisses. J."

Anyway, the important thing is that we got through and that Gareth, having denied Henderson the armband, finally had something to give him to wear...

My utter hatred of Liverpool has nothing whatsoever to do with the internet. I grew up in North London in the 70s with a school playground full of 'Liverpool Fans' who probably had no idea where Liverpool was. I had to put up with the shit they gave me about Spurs' relegation and the bloody 7-0 loss in 78. As for Ronnie Whelan in the 1982 Milk Cup final ...

This! A fucking million times, this!

Some staggering posts on here over the last 12 hours.

Would you lot be gutted if Henderson axored the winner for England in the final?

Whilst he’s in a England shirt get behind him. Revel in it just like the country is going Harry, Eric and Trippy mad.

It seems some think it makes them bigger Spurs fans to put their club tribalism before their nations success, very much like a lot of those bitter little chaps on RAWK.

I get if you're not English, but cannot fathom it if you are.

Chester should just sign 11 randomers off the street who have never kicked a ball before in their lives on 1-week contracts and put them up against Liverpool on Saturday as a big fuck you to Liverpool for not agreeing to switch the kick-off time of their friendly.

Henderson’s shoulders are a disgrace to natural selection. He looks like the world’s biggest dwarf.

Quite the opposite...those slopey shoulders mean he can get away with almost anything...if we had lost last night I'm sure it would be someone else's fault.

Last night's match was mental - such an emotional roller coaster. I can't remember the last time I shouted at the TV watching football quite as much as I did last night. Not a great game of football but full of incident.

The boys came through in the end. A massive confidence boost and team spirit must be over flowing now.

So pleased for the team and also brimming with pride for the Spurs boys...I'm hoping they bring that winning mentality, grit and determination into the champions league and cup matches next season.

So excited for Saturday...so don't want to go to the wedding me and the Mrs are going to :(

I can't stand Liverpool and their fans as much as most people.

Henderson wasn't playing for Liverpool last night, he was playing for England.

Had this exact discussion with two Arsenal fans I watched the game with, and all agree when it comes to England, forget club football, you support the team. That's what the players have been doing and it shows. Spain became world champions when they put the Barca/Real rivalry behind them

Small minded immature mentality to want him to miss.

Nah! Not me. I have been indifferent to England results and the only reason why I want them to do well on this occasion is because of our Spurs boys. And before you ask, I am British born (Birmingham) and a tax payer

Fair enough. I don't understand why an Englishman would rather have ammunition to "shut up the dippers" than England do well. It seems like just the kind of thing people in this thread love to have a go at the dippers for. For hoping the Spurs players fail. Seems rather pathetic and hypocritical to me.
