Brings back memories of Rogers at (I think) the World Trade Centre...laying a wreath with Liverpool plastered all over it with, of course, their club photographer on hand to capture the moment.
Something about it all just doesn't sit right...it seems crass and opportunistic.
The branded candles etc is totally unnecessary and inappropriate

Hard to believe the media are still asking Ramos about THAT challenge ahead of the game.

Expecting a negative reaction from England fans... o_O The game’s @ Wembley, I’m expecting him to be greeted like a returning hero

It's not really, they're just after click bait headlines.

Just when I thought that vile club couldn’t disgust me any further...

How I long for them to fold and never be heard of again.

Their history of winning imo give their players more belief in themselves than our players do.

They havent won anything yet they punch above their weight in cup competitions whereas we do get scared abit

I wish we had this attitude a bit more with our fans and players because their teams bar the suarez years has been well below ours yet they have gone to a couple of finals and been close to winning

We finished above Real Madrid and Dortmund in a group, I wish we had the attitude not to fear anyone and they should be scared of us.

Had they met Juve when we did, they’d have been put out, just like we did. It’s not like Liverpool were the second best team in the tournament. They had very favourable draws bar City. Roma instead of Barca for example. Had Barca gone through, Liverpool wouldn’t have made the final.
Juve, Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG and possibly us would have all put them out had they had to play one of them teams.

That perfectly summed up.

It’s onviously meant in good faith but anything they do like that screams ‘let’s make sure people see us doing this in good faith eh lad’
Genuine gestures aren’t made with an eye on the camera or with a fvcking club crest on a candle.
Cannot buy class. Such a classless club from top to bottom.

It's meant to say 'look how wonderful WE are'.

By lighting candles with the badge on it, don't forget they're literally burning the badge of the club they love so much.

That particular piece of merch has always struck me as a bit wrong.

Have you been to Auschwitz? I went about 18 years ago. And I can still remember almost every detail.

I had no idea just how much, seeing all those shoes, clothing and things made from hair etc would impact me.

It's not possible to explain to anyone how the gas chambers make you feel.

Anyway, the reason I say that. Is because it adds a little perspective to why people are a bit pissy about the branded candles. I can see the reasons you'd do it, but it really is a bit crass and ME ME ME.

Never going to auswitz seen what they do to people there.

BBC sport covering the France Netherlands game.

Just described Van Dijk as one of the worlds best defenders. Take away the 20 odd games he’s played for the scousers and stick him in a Southampton shirt and people would piss themselves at such a statement.
So unproven and clearly a level below the best defenders in the game right now, as it stands.

No hype like Liverpool hype I guess!
