Liverpool missed Coutinho badly today but Southampton were also outstanding today, the scoreline would have been embarrassing if they were only able to complete that final pass.

Aspas, Allen and Alberto are their better squad options.

/snort

But whatever. I'll not laugh at them per se. As a club they've been there and done it. However, their past glories are a ways behind them now and their team, even their first XI, has some military medium players in it. Their fans and pundits get zero sympathy from me until they simply find their spines and admit that fact. The longer they don't, the more confused they'll be when the likes of an aging Gerrard and Skyrtl don't propel them to glory. Good for us though.

Keep buying the likes of Aspas and overrating uninspiring youngsters like Kelly and Wisdom. No skin of our noses. It's actually a help.

We got no credit for doing what we did last season, having had our spine completely torn out and further injuries throughout under a new manager ourselves. Bitter, moi? You fucking bet I am.

There's a top 5 and the rest of the league. Until Pool at least consolidate that 6th spot for a couple of yrs, that's just the way it is.

Banned from the gym eh? That'll help him as the season goes on. He'll become slow and weak.

I like him tbh. Big bastard lump but fucking hell, he never looked this slow at PSG. He's never been Usain Bolt mk II but it's like he's running in treacle. Is he carrying a knock? If they got the right partner next to him I think he'd be a decent CB for them. No worse than Skyrtl anyway. Agger looks utter plop so far this season too.

I think i read that he was. Not sure if still though. I too think he is a good defender. I prefer it when he tackles on his feet to diving in though.

Aye. It was a bit Dawson circa 2007. Arms and feet all over the shop as he lobbed himself to ground whenever possible.

Explains why he was so painfully lumbering yesterday anyway, that he's carrying n injury. Like a fully-laden oil tanker out there yesterday.

I think the scary thing is that 'Lawro' truly believes the nonsense he spouts.
Whatever he's been taking I'd love some....

If he's carrying an injury why play him? They had 3 other CB's out there and 2 FB's on the bench!

There's no injury, there's just a player who needs to do a hell of a lot of work. I'm not saying he can't as that would be ridiculous but there is a lot to do and nay be he can do it and may be he can't, but I'm not sure I fancy his chances under the total idiot that is Brenton.

Blamed his players yesterday for a defeat he was largely responsible for in putting out such a weird looking team.

And I will say that you should never write new players off quickly as they near enough all take time to settle and gel, but seriously WTF is that Aspas? If he's a Premier league footballer then there's hope for pub players everywhere, he is complete and utter shit! I seriously couldn't see him playing at Conference level, he's a total joke and they more or less have 10 men when he's playing.

Aye. Not impressed with the business tbh. Sahko I like but he's obviously had a tough couple of yrs and isn't looking like that promising youngster that hit the scene a few yrs back. If he can regain that form they'll have a good solid CB there who could be great with the right CB partner.

And Aspas. Like you, give everyone time but it's not like he's even a tidy player. Good luck to him but no idea why they signed him and loaned out someone like Suso. It's almost as if Brenton tried to weaken Pool over the summer.

If you really want to have a laugh then have a read of this. Do you have to be a bit special to join RAWK?

If you're wondering how the points system works, here's a easy run down of it

1. Win at home (par)
2. Draw at home (-2 on par)
3. Lose at home (-3 on par)

4. Win against easy teams away (par)
5. Draw against easy teams away (-2 on par)
6. Lose against easy teams away (-3 on par)

7. Win against tough teams away (+2 on Par)
8. Draw against tough teams away (par)
9. Lose against tough teams away (-1 on par)

p.s. Have a look at previous seasons too :p

The thing with Sahko is he's raw power and in a lot of leagues that's a huge advantage, but in the Premier I don't think it's enough, all teams have it these days. The Dawson analogy is good and he's a player who probably has more natural tools than Dawson but how will he fair in this league when he finds that raw power on its own isn't enough, he will find quality players with different ways of dealing wit that. For example if he thinks he will overpower the likes of Benteke, Lukaku, Carroll and dare I say even Giroud he's going to be in for a shock! And he's also he's going to have to work out that diving in against more gifted players like RVP and Aguero will be an accident waiting to happen.

As I say he may or may not prove to be a good one, but the fact Brenton paid what nobody else would late on doesn't feel me with confidence as I don't believe he's a good judge of a player, which nicely brings us back round to Aspas, seriously words fail me that a club like Liverpool have bought a player who is this bad, truly amazing, I would say it's the worst £8 million any club has ever spent!

Was it £8m? Blimey. They signed another Spanish player I think as well. Why not just stick with Borini, Suso etc. Just seems an expensive shuffling of the pack.

Allen, Henderson, Lucas and aging Gerard. Nah. I'm sorry, maybe it's hubris but I just don't see that lot troubling the top 4 until the last game of season, even without European distractions.

If Suarez does the biz again and Sturridge and Coutinho can stay healthy (assuming Coutinho is back in a few weeks) they'll be up and around at times but like us with (and I say this with the best will in the world) the likes of Murphy, Jenas, Zokora and a young Hudd in the centre the lack of top quality will hurt them over 38 games compared to the teams above them. Not even Berbatov and Keane can quite paper over those cracks in the engine room.

Put a Pav or Crouchie (again, Gawd bless them) infront of a Modric and VDV and what do you get? More success.
