Im hopeful next season if we make the right decision, we still have fucking awesome base. Personally I like us to go Spanish not just because of the philosophy on youth but also to exploit a huge market in terms of quality(I include the two dutch boys in this).

Outside the top 5 we have only dropped points against Hull away, West Brom x2(FFS), Man United and lost to West Ham and Norwich.

Now that is title challenging form. Managing 5 points from 10 matches against the top is pathetic. Its also the reason we aren't in the title race or in the race for Top Four
As long as Levy keeps making the same mistakes, I don't really see us being in the mix, whoever the manager is. We have a DOF with no power and Levy still making football decisions.

Not over yet. They have Norwich away and they wasn't too hot vs west ham away last week and the hammers had nothing to play for. Obv the Chelsea match is the decider, if they lose, they then have Palace away.

If you were chairman, what would you do (or have done) differently Mullers.

Well, considering the alternatives are Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal, and that they play the best football in the league without ruining the game with stolen oil money I certainly hope they do!

What does it matter if you make your money through oil or hedge funds?

They would have won it when the league is at its worst. They have had no Europa or CL to interfere with their season.

Their fans will will think they are the best on the planet though. Man I fucking hate Liverpool fans.

I would prefer a bank rolled team to win. Means less.

You would preferred a bank rolled team to win it because it means less to who? the supporters? I understand your position on their fans but at least their supporting a proper football club and not some rich guy's plaything.

But they have also played excellent football this season, and to me it shows that if it's possible for them to win it it should be possible for us aswell - we could have signed every player and the manager on that team and player by player they are not that much better, they just play better as a team. Winning the league with Henderson, Johnson, Toure and quite a few players from their academy is quite an achievement!

It doesn't, though it matters for me when a team is bankrolled to such an extent that it inflates the (football) economy and makes it almost impossible for smaller clubs to compete - and it also highlights the fact that we're mental to put so much support, emotion and money into what becomes more business and less clubs for every passing year :(

But at the end of the day the big thing for me is that they've been the better team.

Means less to me. See my earlier post. If a team wins the prem through corruption and money then its a hollow victory.

The main thing I would do is let the DOF do his job because he knows more about football than me and I wouldn't abandon the system for any coach.

Is there any evidence that suggests Levy has inhibited DOF's in any way other than in the ways he is supposed to, i.e. by imposing financial limitations ?

Arnesen signed a raft of players. Comolli made some great signings and a couple of very expensive duds (Bent 16m, Bentley 15m). Baldini was allowed to bring in Lamela for circa 25m+.

I'm not really seeing evidence of a chairman who is inhibiting managers or DOF's in any way other than fiscally, which unfortunately, is what he is supposed to do because he the head of a company with financial responsibilities.

Maybe you mean "stop meddling in transfers" but this really means one of two things:

1. Stop trying to haggle down prices

But this is an unfortunate reality of business, football business and in particular a club operating on the small profit margins ours does. If it's a case of don't haggle but lower your ambitions in terms of target, what would you prefer ?

2. Don't be the one choosing who to sign.

I don't believe for one second that Levy has ever scouted a player, chose that player then without consulting the manager in any way signed that player and told him to play him.

If he has done that then I agree, it is wholly inappropriate and should not happen.

Bent wasn't a dud, Bentley was a dud. Comolli did a good gob and he was sacked simply because he suggested Ramos.

There is your evidence right there, one player out of all the players that were signed, add to this that it wasn't him who chose Sherwood and it probably will not be him who chooses the next coach. Levy also abandoned the whole system to bring Redknapp in. We have also signed players when we haven't had any coach at all, so Levy has signed players without consulting the coach.
