I think it was more a case of no Europe...

Commentator on our game today said something I was unaware of; on average premiership sides lose 3 places on their previous season when they qualify for Europa

We blew it all at home before Christmas ..

Liverpool, West Brom, Stoke and Newcastle ... All home defeats on Sundays after a Thursday night.

That's 12 points right there that would have got us CL this term.

I wrote "hyperventilating at Liverpool score" on Facebook at half time. In fairness, the first two likes came from Liverpool fans.

Liverpool's situation is goiung to be interesting this season :

- Do FSG risk RAWK's wrath by letting Rogers stay ?
In the long term this could be in our favour as his first attempt to rebuild the team has ended badly - and if anything he has a bigger rebuild to do without Gerrard and Sterling, and no guarantee he's going to do beter with the Sterling cash (assuming there is some) than the Suarez cash

- Do FSG sack Rogers quickly, and after relegation form in the last 8 or 9 games (including a home defeat to Palace and an away thrashing at Stoke) that seems to be what supporters are demanding.
If they do sack Rogers in the next week, I do not think they will appoint a new manager immediately - maybe 3 or 4 weeks later - does that allow us an opportunity to sign a few players they may be after (we are essentially competing with them for many similar players - Ings comes to mind).

Whatever, the rebuilding that they need to go through is biigger than ours - and they do not have a stream of Academy Products coming through to help in that process. Whereas Spurs have a core of players to build round including Lloris, Kane, Bentaleb, Rose, Mason, Dier, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Walker et al - and with the likes of Pritchard coming through from the Academy

I sincerely hope that other people are listening to TalkSport (I won't often say that).

A Liverpool fan was just on Call Collymore (phone in show) and he was actually sobbing out his words! It was staggering, probably one of the finest pieces of radio I have ever enjoyed!

I think you've misunderstood this thread.

Just poke your tongue out and laugh at one of the most successful clubs in history getting twatted by stoke.

Nope, I understand completely.

But I'm saying that its very likely there is more fun to come in the next few years from the Brendan situation

I could really see them screwing up the manager position....

They will dither on about the great Brendao before sacking him and something unexpected will happen....something like Pep leaving Bayern to go to City, Klopp taking Bayern and then to top things off De Boer will go to Schalke...and we will be able to see RAWK all saying how Simeone "always wanted to manage LFC and surely he is the next manager to be appointed" whilst Big Sam brushes up the CV....

Yeah, not sure @StartingPrice will be LOLing quite s loud then.

True.

But, there again, I personally was assured by many, many members of this forum, that Mario Balotelli was a signing of genius who just could not fail. Indeed, I was informed, often with some vitriol, that all of their Suarez signings were just inherently going to succeed. How could they not, Brentan had assured us they wouldn't do a Tottenham (LoL)? And, of course, they told us it was virtually impossible to conceive of anything other than a title win, or, at the least, a comfortable top four finish for LiverFool. So, excuse me if, while acknowledging that Jurgen is a very good manager, they is no absolute guarantee that he would succeed in English football. Or, indeed, that LiverFall absolutely, without doubt, unfailingly have the wherewithalls for him to succeed no matter how brilliant he is and how hard he works. LiverFail will still be the fifth best financed club in the EPL. They will still be playing out of an antiquated stadium. They still need to revamp many aspects of their club. He would still be starting with a pretty poor squad, where, of their four best players in recent years, one has retired, one is a sicknote, one has been sold and one is attempting to engineer a move. So you will excuse me if I won't just take your word for it that even if Mr Klopp (sounds like a German breakfast cereal) should be so foolhardy as to take over at LoserFoil it wouldn't inherently mean they would win the title or even finish above us.

Apart from anything else, would Pochettino suddenly stop trying to succeed just because Herr JurKlopp has taken over LoverFell? We would still have a lot of things in our favour and Pochettino may actually turn out to be the real deal - he may even turn out to be the better manager/Head Coach :)

So, LeperFeel can go feck themselves! We finished above them for the fifth time in six seasons = LoL.

N.B. I have desperately been looking for the post on RAWK at start of season saying "There's a good little club, Spurs, you've had your time in the Sun, but Liverpool are back so get out of the way" (or words to that effect) LoL :)

If Rodgers does get the sack can see either Klopp, Ancellotti (?) or De Boer getting the job.

If everything falls into plan though, it will be Fat Sam
