Clyne and the Brazilian bloke hardly come with any pedigree. But once again there is bed shitting a plenty.

Not entirely sure about that, maybe Firmino isn't renowned as world class but he could be very soon. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but I think he'll do well there unfortunately, he's a very good player

Are you having a bad time of it or something?

If you don't like or agree with the thread just ignore it. It's not a revolutionary idea I know but it works for me.

I'm not laughing at Liverpool on the whole, it's a big club rich in history, I still see them as the most successful club this country as ever seen but even then in particular during the Premier League years have made some howlers, whether that be the club or the fans themselves.

To be fair they've still probably made less howlers than us but we're bored at laughing at ourselves.
Im not, its just i look at the thread every now and again and think, really, we're laughing at them? What must they think about us? Ive supported Spurs an awful long time and we've threatened to spoil the party once in my lifetime ('87), we're the footballing equivalent of the Lib Dems, much as it pains me to make that parallel. But as someone else already commented, im probably taking the Thread too seriously.

That's when they hooked me in too....

I'm a British Asian and especially in the 80's you had a choice between Liverpool and Man Utd, with Utd not being much and Liverpool known for all the wrong reasons in my eyes (Heysel), I decided to break from the norm and support a up and coming team. Tottenham with a midfield of Hoddle, Ardiles, Waddle, Paul Allen and with his cousin Clive nearly getting 50 goals won me over.

They really hustled me didn't they?

Or he could end up just like Robinho and not settle at all.

I also became a fan in '87at the ripe old age of 12.
Mind you, I started just before the FA Cup final, so failure has always been part and parcel of my Spurs following life!

Snap!!!!

The main reason I started supporting them was bar a slightly cosmetic reason (long story) was Glen Hoddle and he left after THAT final.

Luckily for us we got Gascoigne a couple of seasons later so I had a new 'role model' to idolise.

I'm laughing at how delusional they are and how much they have fallen. Which are all justifiable reasons to laugh at a team.

Liverpool will struggle this year, I'm confident we'll finish above them. Their business doesn't strike fear into me one bit. Somebody who I work with is a massive Saints fan and was saying for the whole of last season how overrated Clyne is, he's chuffed with the money being quoted. Milner is a strange one for me, it seems as though people rate him on his willingness to be treated like a bitch, not on his actual ability with a football. The Brazilian chap, I have to hold my hands up and say I know nothing about (barring having watched him for about 30 minutes for Brazil).

I'm not saying he isn't a good player, or will be soon, but the way some people are carrying on you'd have thought the dippers have just signed Messi or something.

Well come on mate, that's to be expected. I'd say probably about 5% of them have actually seen him play before anyway

True dat.

I suppose the only slightly annoying thing about these 2 signings is that they are clearly first 11 signings. They could both flop, Of course, but it's still a bit frustrating that they've added 2 starters while we have added 2 benchers

Plenty of time left though

If they get a centre back as well then I think they have had a good summer. Still got to be translated into what they do on the pitch, but so far they can be pretty content with the business they have done.

my other point, before i shut up, is the fact that they generally stuff us when we play them.
I saw the 4-1 home game (AVB's last) then didnt they put 5 past us at Anfield the season before last and my first EVER Spurs game was the 7-0 (in '78 i think).

not generally...maybe over the last couple of season they've had the upper hand when we've played them.
But we've finished above them in six out the last seven seasons now....thats why i laugh at them.
Why don't you start a 'Lets all suck off Liverpool thread' I'm sure you and @Toela65 will have a great time in there ;)

Or he could end up just like Robinho and not settle at all.

Remember all the same getting said about Suarez then later it became anger for not signing him when the chance was there for Spurs.

If Spurs had signed the exact same players we'd signed, for the same prices, you'd be raving about it right now. You know it, you just won't admit it.

It's as if people think that all those dozens of posts about how good a signing Ings/Clyne/Milner would be for Spurs etc have all suddenly disappeared. They're all still there. I've went back and read them. They're sort of funny now.

You can tell in those threads exactly where it became clear said player was signing for LFC due to how sudden the posts turn into ones saying the very same player was "shit", "overrated", "not worth the fee" etc.

Football fans. Gotta love them.

I would much rather have the window LFC is having so far, than the one Spurs is having. But still plenty of time left for that to be reversed.

No, what you do have to love is that on a messageboard there are people with varied opinions.

Read through the threads on Milner and you'll see some thinking he's a great player, just what we need, others that he;s good but the wages are high and others that he just isn't that good.

Ings and Berahino are the same.

But yet posts like yours always try to claim people are changing their minds because they read some posts praising Milner and now they've read some slating him. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe they're not the same fucking people?

Liverpool have got some good transfers in early. But a transfer window isn't over in June.

As teams do deals different players become available. That's how we saved the true waste of buying Jo Cole and buying VDV instead. On other occasions we have failed to make the necessary purchases.

I think Liverpool have made decent signings but like yoursleves last year and us the year before I don't believe this is a sign that you're going to have a great season. Likely to be a difficult one.

I'm not concerned about our transfer dealing until much later.

Im not so sure, I think they have had made great signings from a director of football pov but not the best for Rodgers 3511 system. He will have to change back to 4231 imo.

Yep, I nearly went into wrist-slitting mode when I saw Liverpool had signed Bogdan.

Look at your last window... That worked out well didn't it!

We don't need wholesale changes anyway, just a few tweaks to the squad. We are also using our academy rather than relying on a big spend.
