'pretty inoffensive' isn't exactly a glowing tribute. It means I wouldn’t bother to turn off the radio. He elicits little or no response from me.

Feel like driving down to talksport towers and setting them on fire...

    Reason: Kris Akabusi.

Was like a 12 gear old girl at a Harry Styles concert. Spent Half an hour just shouting incoherent bullshit down the mic.

Really? He tries to sound like he's got the finger on the pulse of the footballing world but he reminds me of a light entertainment DJ.

He just comes across as smug. His name dropping doesn't help either.

I bet he drives a BMW.

I thoroughly dislike this radio station.

I used to occasionally listen in during my brain dead 45 minute drive home if there was rugby (or the insufferable Nicky Campbell) on 5Live, but I always ended up on my driveway in a bad mood - a result, I assume, of those awful adverts trying to flog me wall-tiles or tins of paint, taxi drivers phoning in starting every sentence with "I ain't no racist but....." or the appalling presenters who gave the impression their marriages were on the rocks, were drinking heavily, sleeping in their jag overnight and were on tablets for their nerves.

It's not all bad H&J are really good. The match day live show on a Saturday aswell. I would also like to mention how good Brazil's breakfast show is the one day a week that Ally McCoist is on.

Apart from match commentaries I've not listened to a talksport show in years. Beyond the hyperbolic, provacative narratives, the childish arguments and middle aged blokes shouting at each other........the fucking adverts drove me mad.

Joey Bartons doing his weekly wind up, its pretty good.
He's just ruined Simon Jordan which was pretty funny.

Joey Barton is not a pundit, he's an intentionally over the top bully. without his insults he offers nothing.

I couldn't care less, he's much more fun to listen to than Thicky Quim and the others.

If most find it annoying why don't you just have silence? Turn it off. Or if not try a different station.

I genuinely feel radio in general has deteriorated in the past 15 years. I now very rarely, listen to anything on radio. Occasionally Spurs on 5Live , and a short trip with Capital or some other bland shite on.

I have tried to listen to talksport but find the presenters to be WUMs (which is their job) and not informative. Are their any other football-talk radio stations?

Didn't agree with what he said about Unsworth, but as a whole I actually quite like what he has to say.

Too many pundits who are ex-footballers give it the old "I'll say what I want and I don't care what people think" but still basically say what they've been told to by Sky or TS. Barton genuinely couldn't give a fuck who he upsets or how he does it. And I quite like that.

I don't like him, but I like his style of punditry. It's refreshing, but will no doubt be turned in to the next novelty act with time.

I agree with this. Despite clearly being a flawed individual with his fair share of demons, Barton seems to have an odd streak of integrity within him that ensures he is at least determined to be true to himself (even if that leads to him acting like a cock). On that radio station its quite refreshing to hear someone whose words I actually trust to be his own, rather than a reflection of the producer's/main presenter's agenda. Add to that the fact that he is considerably more eloquent than most ex-footballers and I've quite enjoyed listening to him lately.
