Has greenwood ever come out and denied it was him on the recordings?

speaks volumes if he hasn’t even denied it’s him, as that recording was harrowing!!
Don't believe he has ever made a comment let alone denied the recordings. On top of my own ears hearing the tapes, I really find it hard to believe that any man would stay with and have a baby, a person that could lie and accuse you of abuse. I could never have a relationship with someone that would lie about that, for that reason alone I fully believe that for reasons we will never find out that he abused her and she dropped the charges. As a father to a little girl, I know if my daughter ever finds herself it a similar position I would do everything I could to stop the relationship. I find the whole thing sickening that Manchester are even thinking about him coming back.

If he was a free agent, he would struggle to find a club to take him on, which makes United’s support of him wrong/distasteful/pathetic

I can think of at least 18 that would take him without giving it a second thought.

If my daughter ever ends up with a person like that, I'm making them disappear and if I'm too old a decrepit by then, my sons will do it for me.

Once you're in a relationship like that, you won't hear anything negative said about that person, you'll distance yourself from everyone else if need be.
If you try to end the relationship, you'll lose your daughter for a while, if not for good.

Personally I think United may well bring him back. Yes they are that arrogant.

If he is truly committed to undoing what has been done and living a better life then who are we to try to prevent it?

You can't undo something like that. If he wants to better himself, then fine, but he shouldn't be doing it in the public eye and getting off scot free and being allowed back into a privileged position sends out all the wrong signals. I would stop supporting Spurs if it was one of our players and we let someone like that back into the team.

It will be "fascinating" to see how long she "stays" with him, whatever the result of this. Can imagine she's had all sorts of threats, money etc thrown at her to shut up. Sadly. 😕

And with a lot of other types of crime i would agree with you. But given the nature of coercive and abusive relationships, we know it's basically impossible to have that fair hearing with all the evidence in this case. You're putting a principle over reality in this case. That's fair enough but most will disagree with you.

There's more than enough evidence already public for Man U to be able to make a decision on this. If they keep him then it won't be about his innocence but his ability. If he was a reserve goalie they would have already cancelled his contract.
All ManU U have to do is look at how the BBC and ITV have handled ‘events’ over the last six months with highly rated employees and realise the magnitude of any decision to reintegrate him into the club.
From a brand perspective they just need to cut their losses urgently.

That's fair enough, he should have to turn his life upside down to try to recover from this, for sure. Its something that certainly should (has) impact his career hugely. I wouldn't want him at spurs either until I saw proof he was a totally rehabilitated humble decent person. I'm not sure he should have to do it all in the public eye though. What does he owe to the public exactly? I've always dislike fame personally, I think it ruins good people all the time. It also makes them miserable trying to appease the court of public opinion in the Internet age. It's near impossible. How does this guy ever get a second chance if the real courts decisions don't count? Whether he deserves one or not is another thing. Mam utd should have broken their relationship with him ages ago.

Stupid woman.
Edit. @bc205 has made me realise that this was a reactive post. My first thought was how can she stay with him when he has treated her like that? and that she was silly if she did, but now I've calmed down a bit, I can see that if she does love him he could have given reasons why he was like that, that she has accepted those and forgiven. him.
In my career, I was often staggered at the sheer power of co-dependency relationships and suggest that you don't underestimate the effect of the power differential between two people in a relationship. I'm also minded of my student days and the influence of theories such as Learned Helplessness - those experiments really do suggest why women rather inextricably return to abusive men.

I said he shouldn't be doing it in the public eye.

I'd rather he just disappear into obscurity honestly. Men get away with this kind of thing too much and the fact that United are even considering brining him back is sickening.

I don't believe they'll bring him back simply because it'd cause so much avoidable friction in all directions if they did. If they can't sell/loan him and they don't have grounds to terminate his contract and then they'll surely either keep him quietly on the books until it runs down and then release him or buy it out so they can get rid now.

If there are first team players who don't want him to come back I can't believe Ten Hag would get behind it. That's a short cut to destroying team morale and creating factions among the squad.

I do really, but I stupidly posted my first thought without really thinking. Nothing is ever as simple as it might appear. There are a million factors that can affect how a person feels about their partner.
