Thank fuck we didn’t go for him. I remember hundreds of people on here wanting him but in reality any manager who loses that CL semi against us like he did should be kept well clear of.

I dont see why, 6th place is probably their level.
Bournemouth are the top form team in the league currently!
I hope they sack him as it will only derail them further.

A lot of their fans are turning now.
I have been surprised by how poor he has done to be honest.
His Ajax team were fantastic in the 18/19 and 20/21 CL campaigns and he showed that he could get his team to go up a gear despite losing all his main players.
I also still maintain that whilst the Ajax system, and it's talent in the academy, always helps, he did take them up a notch.
Maybe that is the problem, perhaps he needed a bunch of highly technical players rather than what he has at United.
But still, there is a really strong case for him to be fired as a lot of issues have been brought on by himeslf.
Tactical -They look all over the place. A midfield that gets constantly overrun, defenders making mistakes because they are being exposed and a very toothless frontline.
Man management - He does not come across as someone you could connect with. Doesn't make eye contact, speaks with not much assurance...he has already fallen out with players and there are probably others who are not fully with him.
Recruitment - I would give him time, if I was a United fan, if it wasn't for his horrendous track record.
He has spent over €300m and brought in 14 players (inc loans) and yoo could argue that only Martinez and Casemiro have been close to a success.
Even then, Martinez has been injured and Casemiro has suddenly become a poor performer.
The jury is out on Hojlund, Onana and Mount but the sogns don't look great either.
They are really ponderous on the pitch.
If he was Spur coach and we were going through this with him I would certainly be leaning toward the exit. He just hasn't shown anything that you could say is something to work on, not since the league cup final anyway.

Actually the Varane and Casemiro signings summed them up.
Varane had been quite average without Ramos and was seen as on his way down by Madrid fans. United fans were calling it bargain of the decade etc. No, i';s cause Madrid wanted him out.
Casemiro did a great job of freeing up Modric and Kroos, an excellent foil. But he was not the same player for Brazil which should have been a warning cause United don't have players of Modric or Kroos' quality.
They love a big name and if they come from Madrid or Barca, amazing!
They needed to listen to Rangnick and let him restructure so they could start to get in potential that wasn't overhyped and would fit a certain style .

I wish decades of pain on their glory hunting fans. Putting up with them in the 90s with us being as bad as we were was awful.

"The same players letting us down" United fans keep saying that as if some of these players ruined Jose, Van etc etc but if you really look at it, only the following were there when Ole first took over.
Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot, McTominay, Rashford, Martial
Funny considering Ole was supposed to eb guy who would get 'United players' back in the door again and others out.
Think it just highlights how unless they really change the entire structure, they will continue to suck.

As late as 2012, it really seemed like they would never be knocked off that perch and Spurs finishing above them was compleetly unrealistic.It’s funny though isn’t it?

To be fair - the signings they made specifically for ETH have not really panned out, and they were not cheap.

But that's the point I am making.
Under Woodward it was get in big names for commercial reasons. But I also think it has always partly been coach led. Jose got some players he wanted, some not.
I think they realised they needed to change so have given ETH the control to choose when what they really should have done is set the entire recruitment up to fit how a sporting director wants them to be and then recruit from that.

They got desperate and let the coach call the shots which is dangerous, they should have changed the entire structire and hired a coach to fit that.
