The media have a new whipping boy I see.

Dont know what all the fuss is about. They might well win tonight - that will shut them up.

At lease their leaving AVB alone for a while.

And if they lose by a substantial margin (2+ goals) then the press will begin with their Wenger not good enough to be manager anymore campaign.

The press love to build this sort of stuff up, Wenger is an easy target for them and frankly if they miss out on CL this season, which without RVP is more likely IMO than last, then i would imagine Wenger will walk.

These stats must be great reading for him. Especially right now.

What I can't get my head around is what happened to his/their uncanny ability to buy a fantastic footballer either for next to nothing or next to nothing compared to the cost being repaid tenfold?? Just a few examples...

Henry, Viera, Overmars, Anelka, Petit, Ljungberg, RVP, Kolo Toure, Fabregas, Judas

But none of these players are recent, and in recent years he seems to have completely lost his ability to find a decent player. In more recent years...

Arshavin, Squillaci, Chamakh, Park Chu-Young, Giroud, Gervinho!!

Of course, he did buy Bendtner and even he knows he is the best footballer in the world right now

What a group of players!

When AW first came to Arsenal, David Dean helped him grab some of the gems of France and Dutch football - thus AW great track record in his first 8 years. Now he is just another manager looking for players and he's not very good at it.

Now I don't want to defend the gooners in anyway, and their misery is nothing short of hilarious. But all this graph shows me is a bunch of greedy wankers who jumped ship for a bigger paycheck, and if they'd stayed put they'd have more than likely continued winning. Didn't most of those names play in the that CL final with Barcelona several years ago?

I was opposite the Emirates at Holloway Road Station as the second goal went in. Gooners running out of the station heading to the game late. I didn't ruin it by telling them the score. Composure is my middle name. Well, it's actually Patrick but you know what I mean.

There's no doubting he's a good manager but I also think that Wenger benefitted from his French connections during a time when French football was King of the World with their World Cup and European Championship winning sides. With the demise of French football, so has Wenger's gift for finding young talent for a bargain.

He benefitted from the old Arsenal defence and then the French Revolution. Sure, he's got plenty in the cupboard but that was a big boost to his early days. Won nowt since they ended.

As much as I respect him for what he's done overall in football, particularly changing the Arse anal's style after the boring G.G. years, I thoroughly dislike his petulance and poor sportsmanship which has got considerably worse over the years.
Undoubtedly the Arse are on their way down and he and his cronies on their board are responsible for this and long may it continue.
