The difference is that when we go to Barcelona the club release loads of training photos and if the players are out enjoying their own time it’s ususlly their media accounts with any photos.

As far as I know West Ham haven’t done this, all their is are some pap shots of them on the beach. They might have done double sessions for 8 hours and this was an hour break in between. Nobody knows, but it looks bad because they haven’t won in ages , are shit and look like going down. Plus of course the club is on fire.

The thing with this whole Miami trip is how it looks to the average punter.
If they buckled down to double sessions every day in the rain and cold of East London then lose their next game, the fans will be pissed, but no more than normal.
If they swan off to Miami, get pictured laughing around on a beach, then go on to lose their next game the fury from their fans will reach new highs.

Its just not a wise move considering the position they're in and the current feeling amongst their fans.
As a Spurs fan it's great as the threshold for this all to all backfire is immense.

Why? They can't train 24/7 and are allowed time off. The whole point is partly to give them a physical and mental break for a few days as we have no winter break.

Aside from any unprofessional behaviour imo it’s a PR disaster. If they are gonna go then surly you’d say keep a bit of a low profile. Just looks like a massive lads jolly to marbs.

This is just it.
Man City are in Dubai(I think) and the only pictures I've seen is of their players sweating their nuts off in a training session.

Its like West Hams PR is run by idiots, saying that it probably is.

I just can’t imagine us ever going on a warm weather training camp and then seeing pictures of the whole team on the beach. Just seems totally unprofessional.

I think a bit much is being made out of this. All Teams send their Players away to rest and recuperate, mentally as well as physically. I do agree though that given the events at the weekend, the club's PR team might have wanted to intersperse the recuperating pictures with those of the team training, because yeah, lose to Southampton and the knives will be out in much larger numbers.
