Talk Sport allegedly have a Super Computer that can predict where teams will finish at the end of season based on their performance in the first four games.

Will West Ham survive?

I suspect you'll find that Talk Sport's super computer is also known as Doris the tea lady. On the minuscule chance that it isn't i'll be cheering on South Coast Big Club this season :yuck:.

Tried to buy a Spurs '93-95 home shirt off eBay. In the descriptions this seller puts the highlight the particular club experienced during that shirt period.

West Ham:

1966 home shirt: "Worn in a season when they would reach the semi-final of the Cup Winners Cup and League Cup Final...It would be said that West Ham won the World Cup for England."

1976 home shirt: "Worn in the season when West Ham reached the European Cup Winners Cup Final", losing to Anderlecht 4-2

1994 home shirt: "As worn by Martin Allen and in the season when Harry Redknapp was promoted to the first team job. The season would be a struggle but a good run of form towards the end would see the club finish in 14th."

2000 away shirt: "Winning the Intertoto Cup"

Birmingham City doesn't fare much better.

1986 home shirt: "The Blues were in Division Two and narrowly missed out being relegated for a second successive season."

The government can a compulsory purchase can't they? Purchase the stadium from e20 and give west ham compensation, the equivalent of 5 years basic rent should do.

Then tear that thing down and sell it to developers.

They've been borrowing money too...

Now at this point I would like to say I know fuck all about money and someone will probably say that all clubs run on loans including ourselves - it's just West Hammy to spunk £100m on duffers and be bottom of the PL then slap down the deeds to their training ground for a high interest loan from 'associates' of the two Davids.

Probably (definitely) the wrong thread to air some sympathies for them but seeing the management of the club do this to their club is pretty wrong.

The footballing side will always be a source of amusement to me and many times their fans have given me huge reasons to wish them away into oblivion as a club but in reality, they don't deserve to be stripped apart like they have been.

The dildo brothers have played quite a canny game in this respect - i don't think they've shown a lack of ambition in sales and paying managers but it's always done with little structure and a whole load of luck, hence the hit and miss results. But the ambition will always keep hopeful fans on the hook.

Where they've left a lot less to luck is how they've structured the club since buying; selling Upton Park to make decent money, renting a new (unsuitable) place at a fraction of their running costs and now this sort of thing. Ultimately they will always come out financially better and so far it seems at the expense of the football club. It's a footballing version of disaster capitalism.

Looking at the comments it sounds like they do the same kind of loan every season. I think the problem their fans have with it is that some of them are saying the money is loaned off of one of Sullivan's mates rather than a bank. So its the mate getting interest payments from west ham's money rather than a bank.

I am no financial expert but the little common sense I have tells me the football club is not being run in the best interests of the club but rather in the best interests of the porn twins. Unless they can find a buyer with deep pockets I can see they gradually fading away and becoming a Championship club at best.

Definitely the one risk they are taking - i do think the ambition was there to grow them as a club - from mid-table to in and around the europa spots, therefore making them a better sell which i think is the ultimate aim.

If they were to drop of course the owners wouldn't make the same off the club but i can't help but feel they've planned for that/selling off Upton Park has still made it worth their while in the long term.

Garner also said the group had decided to reject West Ham's offer to pay £300,000 to change the colour of the running track around the ground, from green to claret.

She said it was rejected for a variety of reasons, including the fact "it could affect potential naming rights" deals, adding that they were in discussions over charging an annual commercial fee of "around £300,000" instead.

"The usage fee is extremely low," she added. "We could take the £300k. It's a drop in the ocean for the size of the losses we are dealing with and will be dealing with for the next 97 years of this contract.

If I was Levy i'd be all over this . I wonder how much it would cost to change the running track to white and navy blue .
