Moyes is doing an unbelievable job at West Ham. You have to have so much admiration for him as a man. Completely written off as a manager to the point he was a joke. If some young foreign manager was doing the job he’s doing he’d be linked with every top club in Europe quite remarkable.
I agree I was one of those that thought he was a joke and feared that we might have gone for him in the past and to think that West Ham fired him once and 18 months later took him back. I still wouldn't want him at Spurs and feel he's having one of those periods where it all goes perfectly and then the wheels come off. You don't just become a great manager after years of mediocrity. If you were a new manager and learning then I can understand after a couple of seasons you became a winner but he's been rubbish for years. That said you can't knock what's happening there and it's obviously down to him but the bubble has to burst sometime and I hope it's Sunday.......but I'm not holding my breath.

He's turned them into his peak Everton, replaced Fellani with Soucek etc , they're strong at set pieces & very hard to play against. I'm going on sunday & I'm not really looking forward to it

Yeah you do kind of feel it can’t continue but it seems to be. He’s only 58 as well thought he was older. What makes it even more impressive is that it’s West Ham who have being a joke so deep in their DNA. Getting close to having to take them seriously.

It's a lot easier to take if you just admit and accept that they're a good team now. My West Ham-supporting mates used to be a pain in the arse when it came to being loud and cocky, when they were shit. Now that they're a decent team, they've surprisingly mellowed out. I have no doubt they'll be cocky on Sunday if they beat us, though, so Nuno has to throw the kitchen sink at it.

Tony Gale on talkSPORT earlier really couldn’t hide his hatred for us. I really hope we stuff them on Sunday, they’ve gotten way too cocky lately.

Very weird for a team that couldn't beat Southampton and Palace and lost at home to Brentford (and United).

If anything they've done okay so far with 14 points out of a possible 24 (which is less than Brighton and Spurs), absolutely no reason to get cocky.

I’ve got the dubious pleasure of going Sunday as well and not sure if I’m looking forward to either. I’m sure there will be goals in it and hope I can sit on my hands when Son pops one in.

He did the presentation and after dinner speech at my old club. Lots of West Ham in the audience so all he did was slag Spurs off. In the Q&A I asked him, how come, for an ex player who played with the likes of Shearer you’ve got no great stories to tell and not only are you one of the unfunniest people I’ve ever heard but you’re boring as fuck too, credit to your agent that you get these types of gigs. He had no comeback while the rest of the non West Ham audience were cheering and clapping. I saw him in a pub once after that, he didn’t recognise me, he was wearing Adidas tracksuit bottoms with black slip on shoes, true story ?

They were full of shit even when they were in the championship.

Out of interest why do they hate us so much. The only thing I can think is proximity. We’ve never been major rivals in a footballing sense, they’ve always generally been below or in another division. Arsenal are just as close to them. Did something happen way back in history or it’s literally we are both very well followed in Essex ?

Large similar catchment area in Essex, no real local derby since they're barely ever in the same division as Millwall, there are probably other reasons too.

I expect it's to do with the 'tribal aggression' of the 70's and 80's among the two sets of fans and, yes, big rivalry out here in God's own county

Just heard on talkshite that West Ham have been given permission to increase their stadium by another 2000+ seats making theirs the biggest stadium in London...

...but, but, but...it isn't theirs!!!

Those poor extra 2000 spectators...you just know those additional seats will be back row, top tier.

Probably just putting out extra deckchairs out on the running track.

Moyes didn’t have ‘years of mediocrity’ he did a good job with Preston and then a brilliant job with Everton, wasn’t given much time at Man.U but none of his successors have done much better and now he’s smashing it at West Ham, fair play to him.

Moyes went through United, Sociedad, Sunderland and his first spell at West Ham, that was a pretty mediocre six years for him. You can say there are certain mitigations around all those jobs but that doesn't change that fact that they were all mediocre.

An increase of 2.500 seat's brings their capacity to 62.500. Our stadium capacity is 62.850. Unless I'm doing the maths wrong how will they have the biggest stadium in London.

You haven't. Your numbers are correct. But your numbers don't make quite the story as interesting.

They are aiming to get to 67,000 at some point according to the beeb...

Why would they want that many?

I remember a while back seeing that their match day revenue hadn’t increased at all since moving. Remember their prices are ridiculously low to fill it out, they get no money from concessions, they have to pay rent ( although tiny ) and obviously they can’t hold any non West Ham related events. Tbh it’s more of a PR stunt than some that actually benefits the club.
