You have to think if it'd been a normal bloke they'd be looking at some minor jail time for assaulting a police officer and attempted bribery.

Unfortunately because he's minted and has the full force of United's lawyers behind him he'll probably get off with some arbitrary fine that will be no skin off his nose. New football boots for the police football team and a donation to a local football academy or some nonsense.

Beggars belief that footballers put themselves in these situations. You can say he should be able to go out and enjoy himself like everyone else, and while I agree to an extent, the fact is that in the real world it's just inevitable that if a footballer goes out in the lash to these kinds of places they'll get random idiots giving them abuse. Either they have to be able to just ignore it and take it in the chin, or avoid putting themselves in those situations in the first place. Some mates he's got as well not getting him out of there the second things got a bit out of hand.

Assaulting a cop - resisting arrest to the extent 5 cops struggled to control him, and then allegedly offering bribe’s....

He should do time for that - especially in Greece where they are supposed to be quite strict.

What an idiot. Hope they treat him as they would any other individual - not special treatment for being a footballer.

In all fairness and I'm not encouraging violence but Maguire was under duress because of what happened to his sister. Him acting like he did can be explained by the nature of a human just being a human and protecting his sibling
He came to realize what he did when being forced down by the police and trying to bribe his way out of it was caused by duress. He knew that this would cause a major problem for him and wanted a quick getaway...

One can look at this case and compare it to what Dier did. Protecting his sibling in a situation of duress.

Does go to show that you really can't believe everything you read on the internet.
The initial claims online were that Maguire and his mates kicked off after someone shouted something about United being shit.
Then it was caused by his sister being "stabbed"
Now it's "two Albanians injected his sister".

Don't think the actual truth will ever become clear. Police have their story, Maguire & Co have theirs and they seem to be quite different.

If that is the case, why did they try and bribe the police or hit them? Just doesn't add up to me.

A lot of people completely forgot the first rule of the written press in this country when reporting on something sensationalist, don’t believe it. Something didn’t sound right from the start. As I said on Saturday he just doesn’t seem the type to kick off over nothing and just being pissed.

How Maguire family and entourage can tell that alleged Albanians were Albanians?
Also very "taken"

Greek police likely looking for a headline for themselves too, so there's a good chance they're bullshitting, especially as no body cams and limited CCTV evidence.

Enough now.

Can't they all have a nice sit down together, eat some Moussaka, and smash some feckin plates.
