That surrounding the ref business looks like a horrible (recent) throwback these days. Manure were also slinging in some fairly 70s-style challenges towards the end of the game last night, almost Ron Harris -esque. Pathetic.

i thought the refs were meant to yellow card all players who run up to him this season. But like always they do it for a couple of games and then relax the new laws. Same as holding and blocking in the box. Having said that historically Chelsea have been the worst at surrounding the ref with no penalty. And who was their manager? You never see us do it. Poch ensures that. Top man.

Looking at their line-up against the Baggies, Mourinho really does make some quite frankly daft decisions when picking his line-up...

Really mis-managing Shaw and playing Young, a winger (and a right-footed player) as an inverted left back instead?

The damn awful Fellaini in midfield (would have preferred Blind or anyone else really apart from Rooney of course lol).

I saw on match report on Sky Sports website Rooney being his usual foul self right on refs face - if I was the ref I'd just tell to fuck off outta my face personally lol, really hope Rooney clears off to China and stays dropped out of international reckoning so we don't have to be inflicted with his vileness any longer.

And Pogba when available is massively overrated and just not really cutting the mustard this season.

They just don't seem to be able to get the proper players for their actual positions and are so so mediocre...

jose is a genius, he has sent 100s of millions of pounds, is 5th and yet still avoids any level of criticism
he is doing pretty much what Van Gaal did

Can see us going for him and selling Wimmer

They play different positions though. He'd be competition for Rose/Davies. We don't really need him at the moment - not for the money they'd want and the wages he'd be on. I bet Liverpool would be all over him if Man Utd were going to sell.

I mean move Davies to LCB and have Rose and Shaw as the wing backs. Shaw is more suited to that role than Davies and Davies plays LCB for Wales

I just can't see us spending that much money to replace Wimmer when he's played about five games this season. Shaw's one of the 10 most expensive defenders ever purchased and I can't imagine that United will sell him for much of a loss. I imagine Wimmers squad place will go to a young player - either one of our own or someone that we bring in to replace him.

I wouldn't spend a penny on Shaw.

He's had a serious injury, missed a lot of football and the little football he has played has shown he's not close to what he was pre-injury.

To add to that pre-injury his manager criticized his fitness and work rate and now post injury a different manager is continuing the same criticism.

Even if Poch could fix the fitness and work rate there's all the suggestion Shaw is crocked and his development has been severely hampered.

MoPo had a great relationship with shaw at Southampton, if anyone is going to get him back to his best it's MoPo

As others have said - Can't see us going for Shaw unless Rose leaves

The guy I've always liked there is Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Looks a real talent and still only 19. He signed a new contract last year but hasn't played at all.

Think he could be a real prospect in a number of positions

Did he have a great relationship with Shaw? Just because he worked with him doesn't necessarily mean they had a great relationship.

Has Pochettino every been quoted talking him up?

Has Shaw ever talked about Poch?

I can't recall ever reading anything like Rodriguez and Lallana who speak about Poch positively and frequently.

Plus as I added earlier, this Shaw post-injury looks like a shadow of the player Poch once had.

Well he got on well enough to call and console him when he broke his leg.

Bloody hell Jose, ripping into Shaw again lol. Basically saying now Shaw did well last night because he had to scream instructions at him to get a performance.

Is the pressure getting to him, clearly this is the toughest job he will probably have taken up in his carreer. These are the kind of comments that can split a dressing room, surely Jose should have learned thisnby now. All of The youth there has clearly suffered this season Martial, Smalling, Rashford. Only Pogba seems to be getting a chance and if he doesn't up his game he could be next.

I'm not against Shaw.

What I am against is anyone hoping Shaw could replace Rose - He can't.

I'm not even sure this version of Shaw could replace Davies.

If you listen to Utd fans, they have an unwavering belief that they have the best keeper in the world, best right back in the league in Valencia, best centre back in Bailly, best centre back this year on form in Rojo, best left back talent in the world (if they ever played him...) in Shaw, most expensive player therefore best player in Pogba, Herrera running him in a close 2nd for best midfielder, the elite young talent in football in Martial, best striker in the league in Zlatan, and of course best manager.

I'm just shocked they aren't winning the league by 20 points with this superstar team...
