Yeh 'math' wots up wiv ya OC .

Anyway its easy pickings for UK**** press . Cos of Marca's inventions the UK gutter press just kick their bullshit off with ' It is reported' and they are covered because it IS reported (that its on toilet paper is not mentioned). Then its Bingo with all the attention the bullshit article will get and a clap on the back from the journo's boss .

Everyone is happy Marca/Real are happy more pressure is being applied , toilet paper uk rag has clicks/attention/sales .

I was stunned to read in Observer Hayter saying Bale is 'distraught' at Levy not accepting 85 mill bid...Its not only red tops feeding on this bullshit . ****s the lot of them .

but if any player indicates a desire to leave theres no point in this drawn out dance as we all know the outcome.

No we don't , Mods wanted out but stayed another season playing well . GB will go eventually but its not written in stone its this year .

Fair point, but it totally fucked our start to the season, until Modric got his head from out of his own arse. Not saying Bale would have the same effect on the team if he has to stay another season against his wishes. But Levy needs to decide if it's worth it, or get a huge transfer fee and a couple of players if possible from them. Plus spending a big chunk of the fee on another couple of real quality players, to massively strengthen the starting 11.

Levy has only lost the PR battle if he DOESN'T want to sell Bale. If he DOES want to sell him for a record bid then the PR battle is going perfectly to plan!!

the media don't sell our fucking players, the club does. It's funny but this type of press always precedes the sale of players that fans will be very upset about. The signs are VERY ominous. Perhaps the club is a deliberate participant/ proponent of this media frenzy, to shift some of the blame.

If so, fuck you levy, fuck you spurs board. I can't be arsed with spurs anymore. Same shit, different season. We're a team whose players can be good, but they better not be too good or you will sell them because you're greedy little shits. Sign the papers and get back on your yatch in florida, Levy you ****.

Seriously mate? If you can't be arsed with Spurs anymore then why are you here?

Fuck me, it takes some doing to out stupid Rich!!

How so? Will the frenzied masses, bombarded with Franco like propaganda about a football player, come to the conclusion that because the Sun and the Mail et al tell us every day that there is "speculation" about at thing, and that it is "understood" about a thing, and that it is "believed" about a thing, that that thing must be true, and therefore rise up against the gates of White Hart Lane demnading that Gareth Bale be given his freedom to join the shining emblem of glory that is Real Madrid, and for Daniel Levy's head to be raised upon a spike on London Bridge as a warning against all ITK and sports journalist non-believers everywhere?

Its not about me, its about relieving pressure from the press. Manipulating it to your own advantage. Real are bullying us at the moment.

Real are doing nothing to us, if Real wanted to say something to Levy, they'd call him. If Spurs wanted to say something to Bale we'd call him.

Real are not legally allowed to talk to Bale so they use Marca and to a lesser extent AS to try and get his attention, this can be easily countered with another Spurs call.

You need to remember that the Press, like ITK is only there for your amusement so you feel like you know what is going on (but you don't), they write opinion and not fact

They are softening Bale up. It worked for Ronaldo x 2, Figo, Beckham, Zidane etc...

So? If he's stupid enough to believe the now or never stuff then he can fuck off because he's clearly too thick to play for Spurs.

Besides as I said elsewhere, there is nothing we can do about Marca, their outlandish stories can then be quoted to buggery in the UK even though they are unsubstantiated because the journalists use a legal loophole whereby their story is another newspapers story, they're technically commenting on Marca rather than on Bale.

If Levy did try to fight fire with fire he could do more harm than good, regardless of the pain in the arse media training that he'll have had, a prickly temperament and high intelligence don't mix well with R Tard Journos (AVB at Chelsea is a case in point).

There is nothing that can be done in the public sphere that will make any difference, it's best to focus our energies actually using our unique position of being able to talk to Bale face to face and let the press implode under the weight of their own bullshit

I think our lack of any public acknowledgement is the right way to do things. Clearly they want to play this via the press. but it takes 2 to tango.

I think the perception in both national press is that Levy is an immovable object. This is good.

Its been said but just to reiterate, Ley has done eerything he can so far, and the club as a whole is reading off the same page. I.E. AVB saying Bale is staying, Paulinho saying Bale is staying, etc.

Even Bale, in a round-about sort of way, talks like he's staying. (when he says "we pushed for the title 2 years ago, we'll aim for it again"). I don't think you'll ever hear Bale say he wants to stay forever, very few players do, but THAT is the only way to stop RM. Levy can't do much more than what he's done.

I doubt that the media had too much to do with all of those transfers. At the end of the day if Real turn up on Levy's doorstep with 10 quid then he's going nowhere. If they have 200 million, then he's gone. And everywhere in between is just dependent on what Levy can get and is happy with.

You can't tell me that any one of our players would turn down the opportunity to play for Real if they came in with enough dosh for Levy to accept and for their wages.

In my opinion (Do I have to say onion?), Bale's head may be turned by money, champions league, players in the team or agents yabbering. It won't be turned by media arguing over whether he's going or not, and how much for.

Its like the Olympic stadium all over again, where we were battered by miss piggy and the dildo brothers in the press.

Why doesnt Levy just say in a press conference, there is no Madrid bid, hes not for sale anyway. This speculation will ruin our pre season if it carries on.

Youre having a right paddy today aint ya.

keep it up, its entertaining stuff and ive got fuck all to do at work.

How can you lose a battle if you're not on the front line. Levy is ignoring it (publicly anyway).
IF Bale is sold it will be on our terms (well Levy's and Lewis's)

I thought this could be a serious, interesting thread when it came up on the front page. Then I came into Spurs Chat and saw who started it.
