They'll just make up some "Spurs in Crisis - that's what they get for killing Jesus!" tripe instead. The English papers should be ashamed of themselves IMO. They have practically engineered the transfer of the best British player to a club abroad, with no regard to it weakening Spurs, the EPL and English football in general.
It's such shortsightedness, as in the interests of selling a few more papers in a quiet transfer window, they've basically thrown away all the column inches they'll be able to write about Spurs over the course of the season.
Frankly their arrogance disgusts me.
They are printing Madrids side because they havnt heard our side.
Actually I think that Levy is winning the PR battle. Real Madrid and their minions have all clearly told us that Bale's on his way out and our only response via AVB is that Bale is not for sale (this year at least).
Bale, the brand, thanks to Real's over zealous courting has now become a household name more so that Ronaldo and Messi over the last month. Even the smallest Indian village here in Guatemala now knows who Gareth Bale is and that type of publicity is priceless.
Keep the faith, Bale will not leave this season and Spurs will be so much more well known
Levy has only lost the PR battle if he DOESN'T want to sell Bale. If he DOES want to sell him for a record bid then the PR battle is going perfectly to plan!!
So? If he's stupid enough to believe the now or never stuff then he can fuck off because he's clearly too thick to play for Spurs.
Besides as I said elsewhere, there is nothing we can do about Marca, their outlandish stories can then be quoted to buggery in the UK even though they are unsubstantiated because the journalists use a legal loophole whereby their story is another newspapers story, they're technically commenting on Marca rather than on Bale.
If Levy did try to fight fire with fire he could do more harm than good, regardless of the pain in the arse media training that he'll have had, a prickly temperament and high intelligence don't mix well with R Tard Journos (AVB at Chelsea is a case in point).
There is nothing that can be done in the public sphere that will make any difference, it's best to focus our energies actually using our unique position of being able to talk to Bale face to face and let the press implode under the weight of their own bullshit
See your point, personally I think the club needs to nip this story in the bud before it overshadows the whole team.
Nothing to do bids or players - so I wonder why it is?
I think Real have shot themselves in the foot on this one
They've let Bale's price rise to a crazy figure and they have to pay it or lose face
Idiots!
Its like the Olympic stadium all over again, where we were battered by miss piggy and the dildo brothers in the press.
Why doesnt Levy just say in a press conference, there is no Madrid bid, hes not for sale anyway. This speculation will ruin our pre season if it carries on.
